  1. Isaiah Kiner-Falefa has apparently been signed too. He “plays” second base-but he is the kind of bum I think Henry will pay for. So much for an upgrade. Disgusting.
  2. He has played 6 games at 2B in the majors and 36 in the minors. You would have won because you said Breslow would get “someone”. He did. He found out new starting 2B man!
  3. Do you think he is going to sign a contract?
  4. I doubt he would take the field-any field-without a valid contract signed by both parties.
  5. And this is why your wager offer was a sucker bet. My offer was better
  6. I won’t be surprised if he is our new starting 2nd baseman. Guess Brady would have won the sucker bet he proposed. Breslow did sign SOMEONE. Of course, he stinks.
  7. He did. Mickey Gasper.. Career BA/ OPS+ of .133/26. Exactly the kind of DREGS I expected Breslow to sign.
  8. Meanwhile, while the franchise burns, there’s no news about Breslow DOING HIS JOB and getting a talented offensive infielder to round out the lineup. Frankly, I don’t think it’s going to happen. Only excuses will be presented. As usual.
  9. “Fred’s Box”…..I like it! Welcome to Fred’s Box! Has a ring to it……so to speak.
  10. Without a big upgrade he is wasting a window to compete for a ring.
  11. I know you all agree with me on most issues….down deep. So I’m already emboldened.
  12. Brendan Donovan to the Mariners. Cross him off the dwindling list.
  13. If we enter ST with an above average bat for the IF then the team has a chance to compete for a ring. The opposite is also true.
  14. Other basketball players had a more successful return. For example Wilt Chamberlain came back after just four months and had success, leading the Lakers to the 1970 NBA finals. Baseball isn’t nearly as athletically demanding as basketball. I think there’s a good chance Casas makes it back-somewhere.
  15. Barring complications I would think he should be able to begin athletic activities. He’s not the first athlete to have this injury. Others have had it and made a full recovery, including basketball players who put a lot more stress on the structure than baseball players do.
  16. ACL tears are worse long term: ” An ACL tear is generally considered worse in terms of long-term stability and rehabilitation , often requiring 6–12 months for recovery and posing a higher risk of chronic instability or arthritis. While a patellar tendon rupture causes more immediate, severe functional loss (inability to extend the knee), both injuries require intensive, long-term rehabilitation. ”
  17. Thanks. And regardless of our disagreements I have always found your baseball insights to be rational.
  18. Patellar tendon ruptures, if promptly repaired, should heal completely and athletes should be able to return to normal activities within 4-6 months, assuming there are no surgical complications. I don't know if Casas had complications but I have heard that he is agressively attacking his rehab.
  19. Devers makes a LOT of money. He gets an average annual salary of $31,350,000 which works out to $51,647 for every plate appearance in 2025. For that money he should be doing what he is told to do for the good of the team. While the situation isn't 100% his fault (the communication from what I hear could have been better) I would assign him 98% of the blame. We don't need players like that on the team. I am glad he is gone.
  20. He’s better than who we will end up with.
  21. What a surprise! We missed out on him too. Good thing we were “interested”. One stated priority was to improve our offense. The other was to get a good SP, which we did. Breslow again did a half ass job. He really needs to be fired.
  22. I’d accept a wager restricted to OPS>.780 over the past three years. The point is that we aren’t getting anyone like that at all. We will sign SOMEONE, followed by the usual excuses as to why we didn’t get someone better.
  23. I’ll counter with I bet we don’t sign an IF with a career OPS at .780 or better. Thats more than generous. Interested?
  24. Hilarious. And your offer was serious? You wanted me to bet that we wouldn’t sign anyone at all?
