  1. Say what you want about Bradley but despite the low average, hes been in the middle of alot of scoring. Hes 5th in RBI's and 3rd in runs. Hes also 2nd in doubles, 1st in stealing without being caught and 5th in BB's. Combine that with his D and JBJ has more of his fingerprints on winning than his average may show.
  2. Pretty much. Other than that I think our team is good. I say leave Bradley alone and have Sizemore platoon with Gomes, and have both Bradley and Sizemore spell Victorino.
  3. Only if we can replace him with another good to great pitcher. Even then though, Doubront should be the first to go.
  4. Im liking Bradley so far. Not a high average but hes high in extra base hits and RBI's. Combine that with the D and that hes still warming up and think hes off to a decent start.
  5. If we get on a run then itll probably be because of him and then shouldnt trade him. If it were an offensive player Id agree with getting rid of him but despite what people say I think our pitching is not a mountain of strength. Now if we can get another pitcher then ok.
  6. We need Capuano in the pen. A strong pen was a strength last year and it needs to be again. As for Buchholz, I cant believe what weve seen this season is the real Buchholz. Last start was an improvement and think he'll get it together.
  7. How was Lester good? It certainly wasnt a pitchers duel. Or is that good from a Yankees perspective?
  8. Depends on Middlebrooks output. I wanted the WS line up on the infield but if WMB does well, we gotta ride it out.
  9. The problem with all of this posting is the tone of alot of it. From my POV, its hard to take seriously people when they get all bent out of shape. As if yelling and being disrespectful will make me consider that posters POV. It doesnt, it does the opposite. Talking strategy is supposed to be fun and interesting. Having said that, I think its still too early to do anything drastic but Drew will always be in the discussion, especially if XB's defense doesnt improve and/or Middlebrooks doesnt fulfill his potential. A good defense, especially up the middle gives confidence to the pitching. I also think we need another major league ready pitcher, whether Buchholz improves or not, Ive been saying that. Because we won the WS our youth movement shouldve been in check a little more than our initial plan was in order to ride the wave we created.
  10. Well were in the youth movement now. Weve got to ride it out for awhile at least. Worse thing to me though is lack of a true ace right now. And if Middlebrooks doesnt contribute, theyll be chants of Drew. The good thing is that we can still make some moves. We have plenty of talent and prospects to trade.
  11. He comes through when it counts though, even more than Verlander.
  12. I thought he shouldve gotten another starter too. Didnt think it was going to be because of Buch, though it crossed my mind wondering if his success was a fluke. Give him another month I say.
  13. Wow, its plain as day. What was he, they, anybody thinking?
  14. No one knows whos going to win the WS but if the division stays tight in the early months, I can see things jelling for us in the middle to late months. Ellsbury was important for us but was he as important as Pedroia, Papi, Victorino, or Napoli? We still have those guys and if Bogaerts and Sizemore deliver, I dont see much of a dropoff.
  15. You probably didnt think that last year at this time either so....Having said that youre not nor have you commented on the fact that this is still a rebuilding project. Unlike the Yanks, we are building for success beyond the next two seasons and that should be taken into consideration. Because we won the WS in the process doesnt change that.
  16. Ditto. Its just too early. I know people know this but still they flip out.
  17. I think Nava is a good leadoff because of his high OBP. Wouldnt that be the number one reason for being leadoff? Having said that I think its only temporary until Victorino comes back.
  18. Theres been no indication of any of his minor league qualities on display in ST, its practically been the opposite. He strikes out alot, doesnt walk at all, and hits doubles instead of singles. That last part is fine but it wasnt supposed to be his game. Whats happening?
  19. I realize that and also think that more than other teams, the Sox use ST for tinkering and experimentation but hey, I want to win everyday.
  20. Are you talking about Papi or the Red Sox in general because right now we stink.
  21. Got this from Mass Live that might hint at my notion may have some truth. "I thought Jackie’s at-bats were very good today," Farrell said afterward. "He stayed on some fastballs away from (Price). He laid off some tough pitches in, even after he gets hit. And he went first move. We’ve been encouraging him to be a little bit more aggressive and that’s part of the learning curve right now for him.”
  22. Ditto. He doesnt have to do as well as Sizemore but he needs to do better. A little silver lining is that what little hitting hes doing seem to be doubles because hes tied with the lead. What happened to the high OBP though? Instead hes leading the team in SO's. I wonder if Farrell is asking JBJ to concentrate on hitting and not BB's. Maybe hes got the job and is working on his weaknesses. Doubtful but just a passing thought.
  23. The chances that Cher and Farr were going to let Bradley fly solo with no back up plan was small anyway so hes just got to win it. Not necessarily in ST but eventually. It may be bad luck for Bradley but I dont think it was a bad move to get Sizemore. Luckily time's on Bradley's and ours side with him.
  24. They should give Bradley a bigger shot than just ST. Give him a good two months of regular season at least. At the same time we're seeing what Sizemore can do in the minors.
