  1. Is there anyone in the lineup that other teams fear? One extra basehit in the last two games. At Fenway! You are not winning with that production.
  2. The Sox have had ONE extra base hit in the last two games at Fenway. Are you kidding me! I think they are 2 For fifty something with runners in scoring position against the Spanks this season. That is unacceptable for a major league team.
  3. You are not seeing Devers at 3B before September if at all. The Sox can no longer get by with just defense at 3B so DD needs to get a power at at third ASAP! Frazier's numbers are better the last month. What else is out there that you don't have to give up the farm?
  4. The lineup the Sox put out there for game 1 was overmatched by an average pitcher. This team lacks power and when they fell behind by 3 runs you felt like there was no way they could catch up. This division is there for the taking, but the Sox need a couple of bats.
  5. Catching is least of the Sox concerns. Vazquez and Leon splitting the time seems to be working. They are both hitting enough and the D is pretty consistent.
  6. Not signing Ellsbury to a long $$$$$ contract looks better and better. JBJ production with the bat and glove are better.
  7. Considering that the Sox are missing key arms from their bullpen the production has been pretty good. T-burg is done for the year, and am not sure when or if Smith is going to pitch. With that said, not sure bullpen production can keep up this pace.
  8. You know any RP the Sox pick up before the trade deadline is already hurt and will not be able to pitch for the Sox.
  9. If the Sox can get their SP on track (Everyone not named Sale) the AL East is theirs for the taking.
  10. He hits at all he will get a lot of playing time at 3B.
  11. The Sox are tied for first and it feels like they are treading water. As bad as the Spanks have been the last few weeks the Sox had a chance to put some distance between them. I knew we where going to miss Big Papi, but getting nothing from 3B and Hanley being so inconsistent has not helped. I think other then Moreland (I think his production is more then we could have asked for), we need more from the rest of the lineup from here on out.
  12. Sale right now is the only SP that you feel real confident the day he pitches that the Sox are going to win. Price all of a sudden can't stay healthy. Cracked nail? Rodriguez is a younger version of him. Can't stay healthy. What is with Porcello? Pomeranz is also very inconsistent when he is healthy. Fister pitched well enough for a 5th starter, but there is a reason why he wasn't on a major league roster. The AL East is sitting there for the taking.
  13. I have to question Farrell's handling of the pitching staff. For example, in Sunday game he had told the media that Fister was on a 90 pitch count. He then sent him back out after passing 90 pitches and Fister did not get another out. The hit and run the other day with a .153 hitter who is now lost at the plate was an another bone head call as well.
  14. Right now the Sox are getting zero production at 3B. It is almost like having the pitcher come up to bat!
  15. I think Travis will surprise people this season. I can see him putting up big numbers at AAA. Last years injury put a stop to his steady progress.
  16. Agree! When you talk about greatest hitters of all time Ted Williams name always comes up. Just think of the numbers he would have put up if not for his time in the service. Papi is the Sox Mr. October and his clutch hitting is legendary.
  17. I agree. He has not produced in a Sox uniform yet. Hembree pitched effectively at times last year. Still might be an issue when Smith comes back.
  18. I agree. Pass!
  19. Sox counting on him to have a big season as they try to make up for the lost Papi production. He is hitting the ball this spring and should be in the running for rookie of the year. He has a sweat swing.
  20. I think its Panda's job to lose. As long as he is healthy he starts for Sox at the corner on opening day.
  21. Clutch is the guys who put up huge numbers in October when everything is big. How many big October hits did Papi have? Missing him already!
  22. It might have been Price if his elbow issue had been worse, but replacing Big Papi's production is a concern I have. Year after year you pencil in 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs. I just don't see where the Sox replace those numbers.
  23. Still early, but if Craig did find his swing it gives the Sox some options. I think he has a better chance of making back to the Show then Castillo does.
  24. Kendrick gives the Sox options to start the season. Don't have to rush Price.
  25. I agree, but if major injuries occur then it becomes an issue. I'm concerned with the pitchers who may go all out pitching for their country before they are ready. Glad no Sox pitchers are participating.
