Sox counting on him to have a big season as they try to make up for the lost Papi production. He is hitting the ball this spring and should be in the running for rookie of the year. He has a sweat swing.
It might have been Price if his elbow issue had been worse, but replacing Big Papi's production is a concern I have. Year after year you pencil in 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs. I just don't see where the Sox replace those numbers.
Still early, but if Craig did find his swing it gives the Sox some options. I think he has a better chance of making back to the Show then Castillo does.
I agree, but if major injuries occur then it becomes an issue. I'm concerned with the pitchers who may go all out pitching for their country before they are ready. Glad no Sox pitchers are participating.
Looks tired and his swing is showing that with contact being an issue. Hopefully, the last couple of games means he is breaking out of the slump. With him you still get the great D.
Moncada did play some 3B in Cuba. With extended roosters the Sox can replace him in the late innings. I think they don't put him there if they think he wasn't ready. He athletic and has a good arm.
Pitch running Wright still doesn't sit well with me. If it is the reason the Sox fall short of making the playoffs it could cost Farrell his job. Wright still isn't right and he had been so consistent the whole season.
Moncada starts tonight. Hopefully, he gives the Sox a boost that Benintendi did. Its nice to see the kids produce and are part of the playoff chase. So let the Moncada era begin.
Leon is an example when things seem to finally click. At least for 2016 Leon is a threat at the plate. You look at the past and he was a no-hit backup. So there is still hope for Vazquez. At worst he is a solid backup.
These two look lost though. Tazawa might be out of gas, and Abad looks like a deer in headlights on the mound. How stressful where his days in Minnesota. Hopefully, he gets it straightened out because the Sox don't make the playoffs without help from the pen.
Swihart as a catcher is what made him special. He doesn't have the same appeal as an outfielder. He starts 2017 in AAA and if that is the case then he holds the most value to the Sox as a catcher.
