  1. I agree with you here Slasher but you do know that DD gets called out for something here daily by his beloved followers on Talksox.

It is the definition of the word ******* to you and that is fine. I normally don't judge people that I don't know and particularly here on the internet. I did not like what he did. He apologized and made it right.
  3. Oh Max - if the guys you mentioned there represent all we have to offer in the bullpen, i think that we are in some serious trouble. i look for at least 2 more arms to come out of camp. Thornburg could be one of them.
  4. Sounds like a Chris Farley, Paul McCartney skit to me - Remember that song you wrote ...
  5. Of course their home runs have no meaning. These guys are representative of one of the worst farm systems in the game today. No chance for them I'm afraid. lol
  6. Not surrounded by them folk I guess. I'm sitting here thinking about where the people in our country come from that I have considered to be pretty rude. Boston and New York certainly don't get free passes.
  7. The exchange rate just makes it hard for some of these folks. I'm not an economist (just a teecha) so I really don't understand why it has to be this way.
  8. Where I am right now, I am surrounded by Canadians. Some of the nicest people I have known. We think that we are super fans of the Sox, just get these folks going with respect to their hockey. Proud and tough is the way I would describe them - men and women. Where I am from in Maine, summer basketball is a big deal. You want to win then you better have and run a good program. I was in Canada (Nova Scotia) just a few years ago in the middle of July. I could not believe the number of kids participating in the all things hockey programs that I saw. It was impressive.
  9. Conjure me up some Chavis for sure but keep your eye on Bobby D. moving forward. As Chavis said of him - the ball sounds different when it comes of his bat. POWER
  10. yup - In Canada, hockey season does not end!
  11. Personally I think that I would feel differently if I thought that the owners of these ml teams all were doing what they could to compete at the highest level. They aren't. They can claim that they are preparing for the future all they want to, they aren't. They continue to grow richer at the expense of their fans. Attendance is in decline and will continue in that trend until they wake up to the fact that everybody would like to think that they have a chance to win it all.
  12. hockey - hockey - hockey - curling - hockey - hockey - hockey ... ... ... !
  13. Matt Stairs??? You mean the Matt Stairs who lives in Bangor Maine?
  14. I have to admit it I guess - the chances of him showing up in Fenway this year are really minuscule.
  15. The '78 team was one of my favorite Red Sox teams of all by far. They were absolutely complete but when Louisianna Lightening was on the mound it just didn't seem fair at times. ERA is an interesting stat. It might be that I don't remember so well but it just seems that back in the day a pitcher whose ERA was greater than oh let's say 3.80 just was kind of run of the mill. One of my favorite Red Sox pitchers was Mombo. i'm not sure that many people even remember him as being a decent pitcher and he was very good. Maybe it had to do with the teams he played on. oh well - so much for memory lane.
  16. Ok - I'll take the half. Even though it isn't in my dna, I will work harder in the future!
  17. I'm not looking it up but how does that number compare to the rest of the league and especially the Yankees?
  18. pitching not so hot in '78.
  19. Oh please notin, stop that. Even you are bright enough to know that I'm not arrogant. Wait - was that arrogant of me to say?
  20. Ah - looks like you boys are the ones giving life to Bryce Brentz. I was just trying to add a little humor. Don't be humorless guys. I'll continue to cheer for anyone in a Sox uniform.
  21. one of notin's favorites!
  22. That might explain why he looks to the dugout before and after every pitch. Just kidding with you but it is pretty obvious.
  23. Once again - if JH wants him back it will be a done deal. There is no reason not to want this guy to be locked up.
  24. you might be right but I am certainly glad that I don't have to watch his antics 18 or so times this season. Good luck to the Padres. California could use some good news.
