  1. Anyone over worrying about Sale's shoulder, just likes to worry. How many times have know-nothings gone on and on about his strength, stamina, and mechanics. It has been a pathetic whine from those who have absolutely no clue what it means to be physically fit.
  2. If any young pitcher picture gets Sale's nod of approval, it can't be a bad thing. Darwinzon Hernandez!
  3. You are right. For the most part, the real dopers are cyclical. They'll do a great deal in a short period of time to peak for an event of some sort. Once that muscle mass is there, when the use stops, they might lose some strength simply because the workouts cannot be as as strenuous nor can they be that often, but they will not just suddenly shrink.
  4. It would be wonderful if we lived in a pure and perfect world. There are many ways to cheat and many cheaters who have never been caught. My guess actually would be that the Hall of Fame currently has a fair share of them who have already been enshrined. I'm glad that I am not a member of the sanctimonious crew who gets to pretend that they have never done anything wrong in their lives.
  5. Or is using them currently. i also believe that in most cases where this is smoke, there is likely to be fire. Not all of the time but when the rumors start flying it seems that more often then not there is some truth in the story.
  6. Very true - much fewer aches and pains after workouts as well.
  7. I have never done them but I know plenty of people who have and no the effects do not suddenly disappear. If you continue to workout the right way, the power just does not quietly slip away. I just think that it is naive and a touch hypocritical when people start yapping about how they would never sign anyone who has ever used. It is a persona prerogative I guess but I won't be that guy who thinks that using steroids or something akin to them does not continue to be widespread. Not talking about you here Moon - just making a comment. Personally, I suspect many of our alleged Red Sox heroes of recent years could have used and we have no clue about it. i don't live in a perfect world so I choose to not judge. If they use and they are caught they pay the price. They use again and are caught they pay a more severe price.
  8. After reading Bradford's article this morning, it might be a stretch to think that any of these guys heading toward free agency will sign any kind of deal that even appears to be team friendly. I grouse about the play money being thrown around in ml baseball as much as the next guy but the thinking of the players makes sense. It is very difficult for me to sympathize though with either side in this issue.
  9. Everything that I have seen indicates that he is playing multiple positions. He very likely might get his chance at some point this year.
  10. I don't think the Sox expect Chavis to be playing third anytime soon in Boston. I think that they are all in on Devers being that guy. Personally I am all in on that one too.
  11. Chavis is working out at second as well as any other position that the Sox think that he might help them at.
  12. i'm happy to see some of these young guys showing something of their talents. I will continue to think that there is some pretty good talent in our farm system. I love seeing the early power from both Chavis and Dalbec - I don't mind at all if the pitching they are facing isn't the best in ml baseball just yet. There is good potential there. Some of the young pitching talent shows promise as well.
  13. Looks that way doesn't it. I think that the fate of the bullpen still looks unresolved as well. it will be interesting to see who steps up if anyone. I hope someone does for sure. Lets go Thornburg.
  14. I'm not sure who goes. Hard to say what they will do. Just for you though notin - Leon goes. it does kind of sound like Vazqueth has the best shot at the job. Also sounds as though the intrigue over Swihart continues. Steady improvement behind the plate and clearly more potential from a hitting standpoint than either of the other two. I do have to add though that I am wrong most of the time. I also happen to think that someone would snap Swihart up in a second if they could get him for next to nothing. Why wouldn't they?
  15. Went out on a limb with my thoughts that Kimbrel would come back. Looks like that isn't happening. My next great prediction - Swihart stays and we have two catchers on the roster to kick off the season.
  16. I agree with you here Slasher but you do know that DD gets called out for something here daily by his beloved followers on Talksox.

It is the definition of the word ******* to you and that is fine. I normally don't judge people that I don't know and particularly here on the internet. I did not like what he did. He apologized and made it right.
  18. Oh Max - if the guys you mentioned there represent all we have to offer in the bullpen, i think that we are in some serious trouble. i look for at least 2 more arms to come out of camp. Thornburg could be one of them.
  19. Sounds like a Chris Farley, Paul McCartney skit to me - Remember that song you wrote ...
  20. Of course their home runs have no meaning. These guys are representative of one of the worst farm systems in the game today. No chance for them I'm afraid. lol
  21. Not surrounded by them folk I guess. I'm sitting here thinking about where the people in our country come from that I have considered to be pretty rude. Boston and New York certainly don't get free passes.
  22. The exchange rate just makes it hard for some of these folks. I'm not an economist (just a teecha) so I really don't understand why it has to be this way.
  23. Where I am right now, I am surrounded by Canadians. Some of the nicest people I have known. We think that we are super fans of the Sox, just get these folks going with respect to their hockey. Proud and tough is the way I would describe them - men and women. Where I am from in Maine, summer basketball is a big deal. You want to win then you better have and run a good program. I was in Canada (Nova Scotia) just a few years ago in the middle of July. I could not believe the number of kids participating in the all things hockey programs that I saw. It was impressive.
  24. Conjure me up some Chavis for sure but keep your eye on Bobby D. moving forward. As Chavis said of him - the ball sounds different when it comes of his bat. POWER
  25. yup - In Canada, hockey season does not end!
