  1. Not from me! I liked the deal and still do. I did have some questions about his intensity level a little while ago not so much any more.
  2. I was a fan long before 1967 but I sure would like to get a copy of the documentary being broadcast Sunday night about that special season. It was absolutely magical. the whole concept of a tight pennant race. The idea that only one team wins a pennant and the brilliance of Yaz!!! That entire season will stand out as a life changer for me. Those of us who lived through it and saw are pretty fortunate. Yaz's catch in the third game of the season is imprinted in my mind's memory forever.
  3. I think that in the long run Durant gets his money from ownership some way. I believe what he did was bad for the league in general. I would have liked to been able to hear the conversation he had with ownership when they told him how they were going to make that money up to him. Maybe the IRS folks would have liked to have been there as well!
  4. Boy oh boy - I couldn't resist this! lol This guy keeps throwing like this, I think even the early Pom supporters (supporter?) will share in this meal. Good to see. A big young lefty getting better with every game. I liked seeing a little attitude from him when he was getting squeezed as well.
  5. I like that one!
  6. I do think that Lin has played well for us but I think that we have others that might do as well given the opportunity. I still think that a healthy Hernandez could be a very valuable player for us. Utility guys are important to have but we seem to stockpile them.
  7. Believe it or not - i respond to you.
  8. I don't think that Rozier is untouchable. I saw him play as well at Louisville. I really like what he brings. I just think that he like some others needs minutes. The Celtics have done a very good job under Coach Steven's leadership but the duplication at most positionns although giving some strength in depth, i think has restricted the development of some of our younger players. I like Rozier's quickness . Depth is important don't get me wrong but once you go past 8 or 9 players in the NBA you might actually have too much.
  9. ok well that is good then - I would just be one of those numbskull managers I guess. betts would likely hit third for me at this time.
  10. Haven't read anything today really but what I heard was that the talk still centered around one of Crowder, Bradley, and Smart. If it is Crowder, we still have plenty of depth. He might not be 10 or 12 deep but Brown needs to be able to play more. If Rozier stays, no problem really for me if either Bradley or Smart (not both are gone as well). I feel about the same way about Rozier as I do Brown. Kid needs minutes. My guess is that they will be a solid 9 to 11 deep before it starts and that is all they need. To date we have lost no draft picks. For me it is a great day to be a Celtic fan.
  11. but never third Max - really? so who does get to hit third - the team stiff? Still Betts for me I like what you posted.
  12. I would just like to see them be a little more creative out there with their dance. Maybe some clogging a little line dancing - how about my grad daughters doing their nay nay dance - whip it good. River Dance?
  13. Having some fun with Emp - that is all.
  14. No it really doesn't make it right but I'm not so sure that it would be in the same category of someone historically suggesting that the world is flat.
  15. The Hayward signing was a great sign by the Celtics. If the cost is Crowder and a few other complimentary players so be it. We might get a chance to see how good Brown can be. I hope they still find a way to keep Rozier but there is still plenty of depth, some of which is unnecessary, to get this team through. They got better. Heading in the right direction.
  16. was that study paid for with my tax dollars?
  17. Gene Conley and Pumps Green! I remember them but I don't remember the incident.
  18. Mookie is unique for sure. if we win, i don't care where he hits. Honestly, i really don't care that much anyway. Currently I would still bat him third.
  19. 4th, 3rd, and 5th spots producing the big rbi's year after year. I think that is obvious where most think the rbi guys in the batting order should be hitting.
  20. i feel your pain
  21. I think you are right! Clearly the cess pool of the order regardless of what those playing have played as well as those who have coached might think. lol traditional nitwits be they all!
  22. But once again - it is ok if he hits 1st, 2nd, or 4th with you? I like him 3rd regardless of what you indicate that all studies show.
  23. I don't blame you at all. You are probably better off that way.
  24. You are not too old to be taught or to learn something new. We seem to be in a time where compromising doesn't happen often even in silly debate. You are either on one side or the other. Normally I don't even listen to people who claim to be right all of the time. Most of the time they aren't. Using all available data combined with the wisdom gained from experience then forming an opinion and a plan is the way to go for me. I probably will never let go of the things that I absolutely believe to be true but I'm always open to new ways of looking at things if they make a little common sense.
  25. Not sure that I agree that they could be clearly better. Better maybe though given time. they look pretty good right now. You come from our era then you know how hard it is to compare generational talent. Heaven forbid you ever get into an arguement about whether athletes today are better in general than those that came before. If these 3 stay together and man that outfield in Fenway for an extended time, they could represent the Rice, Lynn, and Evans of our day for kids growing up watching them now.
