You are right of course in a perfect world everyone would respect everyone and their opinions and we would just all get along. I taught for awhile and I did have to deal with students, other teachers, Parents, admiinstrators, and fellow coaches. I don't think I ever used the f world when defending myself or criticizing them but I'm not buying into the theory that everybody plays nicely and if you don't you are just awful. IMO - a color analyst who is expected to report honestly about what he sees without soft peddling should not travel on the team plane. The world really isn't all that nice. Now I will also say that this whole story is a non-story. One in which we really don't know what was said, who said what, and who cheered who. Early today it was reported that Pedroia was cheering Price on loudly. It has since been rescinded. Maybe it wasn't even Price on the plane. Maybe it was someone pretending to be him. I like reading what Shaugnessey writes but let's remember what his personal goal when writing a story is - to get people to read it! He has never been above a little embellishment from time to time. Once again I'm not defending Price - I don't like him - but I'm not going to rake him over the coals for something that I don't think I ever should have heard about. This looks like a leaderless team to me.
