Is the west coast representative of the rest of the country in anyway?

As a spectator watching the game, I agree. As a player or a coach who has to deal with an ass hole day in and day out, I disagree. If being deep into weeds is believing that mental components might be more important to a team than physical ones, I am hanging out in the proverbial weed patch. It is always tough to understand how important something is when you just can't measure it.

Times certainly have changed for sure. I do think that there is more interest in UCONN women's bb than there is women's professional bb. I'm not sure the Northeast has been all that much of a competitor with warmer climate bb teams at the collegiate level ever. The nature of the beast. Soccer is a great game but the amount of interest in it might have something to do with geography as well as many recent studies discussing the physical and mental that football can easily cause.

I really don't think that good leadership can be taken for granted at all regardless of how many wins or losses a team may have throughout the course of a long season. We use the term leader sometimes as though one person can provide what it takes to an entire group of adults. Good leadership comes from a team that is primarily made up of good people willing to sacrifice individual goals for the greater good of the team in general. I agree that good leadership can start with a good manager. I hope that Alex Cora can provide what it takes. I know that there are a number of posters here who think that his age being closer to that of his players could make a big difference. I don't share that view. I don't think that his age means anything at all. Regardless of his age, he is the boss and the boss isn't always going to be making the popular decisions. I wish him the best of luck.

No one is going to feel sorry for us though my friend. Regardless of how things look right now, we have the greatest sports franchises overall in the country right here in New England.. It's a very lucky athlete who gets to play here and an even luckier one who gets to retire as a member of one of our great teams. Things will all workout.

It's not me - it wasn't me - our illustrious on the field leader when looking out at Machado says sort of. JBJ standing solidly with bad boy Price when he verbally beat Eck down. They were not likable. They have had an off-season to grow up. We'll see how it goes.

I could care less by the way where Lebron James goes next year as long as it isn't Boston. I do realize how talented he is also but if I wasn't concerned about the negative feedback I would get here I would call him a big bag of s*** but I won't. I don't want you youngsters going nuts on me. lol

here is the thing. I get the deal that most of us here are extreme Yankee haters. Not so much I guess for me. Now, the Lakers, that is a different story for me altogether. i do not like the Lakers. Their rivalry with the Celtics has been one of the greatest stories in the history of sports. Personally far richer than any Red Sox Yankee rivalry for me. Two incredibly successful franchises and in the end the ultimate Rusell vs Chamberlain. I take Rus everyday. I watched him play. I studied how he played. He was the absolute best team player/superstar that I have ever seen. Larry might come close but Rus was Rus - the greatest of all time. Also the next beer I am about to drink is in honor of the way Danny does business!

Since 2010 Hanley has been up and down like a yo-yo. He is 34. I hope he comes out and has a great year but I would be pleasantly surprised.

Danny has go a lot of Red in him. I like that. He has to do things differently but he has a great plan.

Right on! He goes back to Arizona for less because he is happy in Arizona. DD must have a pretty good handle on the whole free agent landscape. I wonder if some of the bigger names haven't signed because they are hopeful that Boston's attention turns away from Martinez and to them instead.

I really don't think that the local fan base is seen as much of a turnoff to anyone unless of course a player doesn't appreciate a full house every home game and fans that care deeply about their teams. I'm going out now to move a foot of snow. i don't blame him much for wanting to stay in Arizona.

I don't get the feeling that Martinez really wants to come here - who does? I think that he wants to stay in Arizona. he very well might take less to stay there. It really is his choice.
