    It's a good question. Some Yankee fans refer to the team's analytics guys as 'the Kids in the Hall' because they think they're stationed close to the dugout. I would hope that in general that input all comes before the game.

After the fact, he realized, ‘This is not the same Eduardo that our information says. In other words, there are identifiable extenuating circumstances in a moment to consider beyond the larger data sets from analytics. There’s preparation, but ‘There’s not a script.’ Cora says he and Bloom discussed the Snell decision. ‘There’s no black and white’ on managerial decisions.     It was 30 games. But still, they do jump out as inferior to previous years. I would think that had something to do with the recurring injury problem.

    I assume he's one of the very best ever. His 2020 short sample numbers were not nearly as good as 2019, though, correct?

    I have to admit I have 'gone the wrong way' in a few grocery aisles with COVID-19 arrows on the floor. If there's no one in the aisle, no harm done. Make a quick dash to what you need, then come back out in the right direction.

    I just read that Simmons has had 3 left ankle sprains in the last 2 seasons. He played only 103 games in 2019 and 30 in 2020.

    They're more diplomatic than most fans, needless to say, but they do make a lot of references to psychological stuff. One comment that stuck with me was when Roger Clemens got shelled by the Red Sox in Game 3 of the 1999 ALCS, in the matchup with Pedro, and Joe Torre said afterward "I think the moment might have been a little too big for Roger." I have mentioned this before, but in the sport of golf, the concept of choking is openly discussed by players and commentators. Everyone seems to acknowledge that in golf choking or not choking is a big part of the game.

    The NY Post actually floated a theory the Red Sox might go after LeMahieu. Probably just to ruffle the feathers of Yankee fans though.
