Yes, the Ellsbury contract was not much better than our Pablo/Hanley/Rusney deals. Although the Yankees recouped some money through insurance.

The bad news is that Fulmer is a decent pitcher. The good news is, he's only thrown 85 pitches total in his last 2 starts, so we might only see him for a few innings.

Good question that I can't answer. He hasn't pitched since April 24.

That trade could hurt us this year, no question. Of course we have to keep in mind that Bloom got 2 other players in the deal, Winckowski and a PTBNL from the Mets yet to be determined. Cordero might be seen as a throw-in. At the moment he's a throw-in who isn't very good, that's for sure.

They probably do. But sports probably need to have different rules because of their unique characteristics. It's up the Players Union to defend the rights of their members.
