  1. Pretty good in a pitching-dominated 2021 season.
  2. I like the way the team is handling Dalbec too. He's had to sit some games, but they're not burying him. He's getting his chances. I kind of salivate at the thought of both Dalbec and Chavis in the lineup and both hitting. That sure would boost the offense.
  3. Whitlock has given up only 3 walks in his first 20.1 major league innings. That is phenomenal.
  4. I honestly think they have all that figured out, as much as it's possible to do so.
  5. One game, one day at a time, that's my philosophy.
  6. He threw 52 pitches last night, his second highest total of the year. I understand your questions, and I can't really tell you what the plan is. I'm just thrilled that he continues to pitch well, and to contribute to the overall success of the staff, and I'm comfortable that they know what they're doing. But I'm somewhat of a Pollyanna about Bloom and Cora, perhaps.
  7. Dalbec and Chavis both having good nights. You gotta like that.
  8. And this year pitchers obviously have an edge.
  9. 4-0 Rays. Sweet. We may not hear from the doc tonight...
  10. Or the law of averages or something. We were due for a pitcher to be off his game.
  11. You shouldn't have, because of Bloom-he's a pretty good evaluator of pitchers.
  12. We have two guys named Garrett pitching well.
  13. Dalbec really needed that. Could this be the night he turns around his season?
  14. Although if we miss by 1 game, that would hurt and would lead to second-guessing about certain moves.
  15. We're talking .400 OPS, right?
  16. August 31, 2020 is the answer to both.
  17. That makes it sound like aces win every game. I guess Jacob deGrom is no ace.
  18. Without looking it up in B-R, he was in the Sonny Gray trade?
  19. In a nod to Tyler, who often discloses what's he eating, I'm having a Wendy's double cheeseburger combo right now.
  20. Things can change in a hurry, in a game where you play almost every day. The Yankees are 10-3 in last 13.
  21. Career .479 SLG and .767 OPS, though.
  22. I'm leaving out the money savings. Beni's AAV was 5 million. It's debatable whether the savings were actually required. The value of Winkster and the others is 0.0 for 2021. Future value TBD.
  23. In his last 15 starts, Franchy has gone hitless in 13 of them.
  24. As of today: Cordero bWAR -0.3 Beni bWAR +0.5 So it has maybe cost us a win.
