  1. XB is hitting .513 over his last 10 games (20 for 39).
  2. It's amazing how even when a team is playing great and exceeding all reasonable expectations, the manager's acumen will still be in question.
  3. Well, it's not PERFECTLY upside down, but still...
  4. The offensive talent just isn't performing, man. Take a look at the stats. The Yankees are hitting .217 with an OPS of .655. With Judge, Stanton and Torres all healthy. Stunning.
  5. Truth be told I follow most games on Gameday now as I'm multi-tasking. Seeing bad calls on Gameday can be ever more unsettling than seeing them live. You receive two pieces of blatantly contradictory information.
  6. Yeah, I said the calls were horrible, but I fully agree that it's a tough job.
  7. 26 man roster now, so 14 pitchers = 3 subs.
  8. Unfortunately, those boxes highlight some horrible balls and strikes calls by the human umps.
  9. Nope. Frazier is floundering and Gardner is in LF again today.
  10. So many head-scratching moves of all sorts. On defense, they have DJ, a second baseman, playing first, Torres, a second baseman, playing short, and Odor, who should be out of baseball, playing second.
  11. It's so hard to picture Boone going off.
  12. Nobody likes commercials. But they are a big source of revenue, so they're a necessary evil.
  13. To date, Cole has been outstanding, Montgomery has been pretty good, the rest of the rotation has been awful. Their bullpen is fine. Their offense is in a huge funk. Their defense is an abomination.
  14. As one Yankee fan said about using Nelson as an opener, "The Yankees try to copy what are other teams are doing and then they do it the wrong way."
  15. Something about baseball makes me crazy superstitious. With regard to the 4/4 mojo, after we won a couple I noticed that 4/4 is Groundhog Day (2/2) times two. But I didn't want to mention it and jinx anything.
  16. Yes, but as you say, it might be Cash making these decisions. Nelson said afterward he was informed Thursday night he would be starting on Friday, and he had to remind himself how to prepare. You can't make this stuff up. It's reminiscent of the disaster against the Rays in the playoffs last year when they used Garcia as an opener and then Happ. And Happ afterward said he wasn't really in favor of the idea. It smells like total systemic dysfunction.
  17. Using a middle reliever to open, and against the Rays? Totally bizarre. This team is not being well managed.
  18. There's no such thing as a scheduled doubleheader anymore. They all result from postponed games. So I would have to assume they're all 7 innings * 2.
  19. I have a simple approach - I ignore all of it.
  20. And Odor has been barely above replacement over the same period. That's why I wonder if Cash is losing it.
  21. Well, they could just replace the Power Rankings with the Actual Current Standings. But that would be a tad redundant.
  22. It's still too early to say. Kluber or Taillon might start to click. They're getting back Severino and Britton. Don't get me wrong, I'm hopeful that they continue to 'underachieve'. The fact that their offensive 'depth' is Bruce and Odor is making me very happy at the moment.
