  1. Can you detail this one please?
  2. It would be pretty wild if they do trade Downs to Miami.
  3. I'm no genius, but yes, I would think they have to be looking at Whitlock as a possible replacement for Ottavino, if we see more issues with Adam.
  4. If so many Yankee relievers weren't suddenly sucking, Boone wouldn't be looking nearly as bad.
  5. I don't know if it's blind luck or not, but the combination of the new baseballs and the removal of the sticky stuff seems to have worked out just about right. We're still seeing good pitching performances, but offense has ticked back up some.
  6. We need a topic deadline here. No more posts about Porcello after tonight!
  7. Based on what, though? He made the playoffs his first 3 seasons. Not even AC did that.
  8. This statement kind of demonstrates how difficult some of these decisions are. How is Boone actually supposed to know Green's state of mind? Is there a PTSD test he can give him?
  9. That's the one clear criticism I see. 3 straight hits and no outs recorded, you replace the guy, unless it's Mariano Rivera.
  10. Kind of a mixed metaphor, says Mr. Picky here LOL
  11. I think the relief pitchers had something to do with it too.
  12. Waiting on Arroyo, trying all internal options, and likely exploring a trade.
  13. Max, the Yankees have been awful with RISP all year, with sporadic exceptions like this.
  14. I expect they will just do a slow and steady ramp up in pitch counts. And obviously keep a sharp eye on him. Not sure there's much more to it than that.
  15. It was his first walk.
  16. I would not be so quick to trade Richards. Might regret it if other starters develop health issues.
  17. Nope. He averaged 2.6 fWAR per season. That is not below average.
  18. Pitching is not actually bad in the majors, though. The average hitter is at 241/316/405 for a 720 OPS.
  19. MLB pitching is tough. Everyone got excited by Duran's double off Cole. I think that was his last hit.
  20. If Stanton stayed on the field, sure. In the equivalent of 3 full seasons with the Yankees he has 61 HR. That's because of the missed time. And he's a DH. I do agree he's not really that huge of a problem though.
  21. You're making up your own definition of average, then. 1+2+3+4+5 = 15. 15/5 = a 3 average. Simple math.
  22. A #3 starter is an average starter in a 5 man rotation.
  23. At worst Porcello was an average pitcher, as his career ERA+ of 99 would suggest. So I guess the average ML pitcher sucks.
  24. Look up pitchers who have had 2 TJ surgeries, I guess. Eovaldi is one.
