Just compare JBJ's fWAR as a 165 hitter (2021) to his fWAR as a 225 hitter (2019). It's a 26 run difference on offense (fewer PA's in 2021). The difference in his OBP was 80 points, so that would factor in too. -
Times do change. Back then guys were getting deals in the hundreds of thousands. Now they get deals in the hundreds of millions.

His numbers are not that far off of Barnes, who has a career WHIP of 1.33. It was saying he can't get anybody out that was harsh, not the 2 years part.
