Yes. This can be a win-win. The idea that Bradley has no potential value is kind of absurd.

We're talking about Devers now. You don't think they would offer him $220/8?
  3. Bellhorn04
These are some fun math riddles you're coming up with. I think I would definitely rather pay $220/8 than $290/14.

Like everything else in the modern game, I'm learning to accept it. My opinion won't change a thing. It's still a great game, fortunately, they can't really screw it up no matter what.
  5. Bellhorn04
Well of course now fans will be demanding to know what the offer to Devers was...

Bogey will be about 2.5 years older at the start of next season than Seager is now.

    Lackey is a borderline call.

    Winckowski and Winkleman. Perfect.

And naturally, I'm perusing the box scores this morning to find that the Phils have a reliever named Bailey Falter.

I have the utmost confidence in Bloom and Cora to make good decisions. It sure is nice to see some of our pitching prospects get off to good starts on the farm.
  11. Bellhorn04
Heh. No, some things just get older.

Fun with small samples: IKF at .059 and Higgy at .056.

AKA one stud hoss and a bunch of worker bees.
  14. Bellhorn04
Sure, but you have to factor in the length of the deal, too.
  15. Bellhorn04
    Those are crazy numbers.

Can't answer that, but FWIW the Tigers reported net income of $31 mill for 2021, and have a current market value of $1.4 bill (#18 of 30), per Forbes.

I had actually thought Suzuki got 5/$70, not 5/$85, until I looked it up.
  18. Bellhorn04
Suzuki also got a $5M signing bonus this year. But the AAV is surely the most important thing. Suzuki's is $17 mill, JBJ's is $12 mill.
  19. Bellhorn04
It's been a great 15 minutes for Chaim Bloom.
  20. Bellhorn04
That should tone down the JBJ abuse (just slightly)...
  21. Bellhorn04
Please explain how? Suzuki is making $17 mill * 5.
  22. Bellhorn04
    Sweet.
  23. Bellhorn04
It's more about days off throughout the season. Seems like every team is doing it.
  24. Bellhorn04
Yes, at some point those terms might disappear, and it's just called a pitching staff, period.
  25. Bellhorn04
Probably because he doesn't want to allocate more money to it if it can be avoided.
