  1. Heh. No, some things just get older.
  2. Fun with small samples: IKF at .059 and Higgy at .056.
  3. AKA one stud hoss and a bunch of worker bees.
  4. Sure, but you have to factor in the length of the deal, too.
  5. Those are crazy numbers.
  6. Can't answer that, but FWIW the Tigers reported net income of $31 mill for 2021, and have a current market value of $1.4 bill (#18 of 30), per Forbes.
  7. I had actually thought Suzuki got 5/$70, not 5/$85, until I looked it up.
  8. Suzuki also got a $5M signing bonus this year. But the AAV is surely the most important thing. Suzuki's is $17 mill, JBJ's is $12 mill.
  9. It's been a great 15 minutes for Chaim Bloom.
  10. That should tone down the JBJ abuse (just slightly)...
  11. Please explain how? Suzuki is making $17 mill * 5.
  12. It's more about days off throughout the season. Seems like every team is doing it.
  13. Yes, at some point those terms might disappear, and it's just called a pitching staff, period.
  14. Probably because he doesn't want to allocate more money to it if it can be avoided.
  15. He had a hamstring issue in Game One, no?
  16. Crawford has a FIP of 0.11 Valdez has a FIP of -0.49 (yes, it's a minus sign)
  17. Maybe by 2023 Casas is the first baseman and Dalbec is DH/backup corner infielder.
  18. So Bello, Casas and Hamilton are all stirring some excitement.
  19. And it is difficult not to react to small samples, even when we know that's all they are.
  20. He did look very good.
  21. True, but I think what Nick is talking about is him pitching 4 innings, which was supposedly the original plan. If he pitched 4 innings against the Yankees, he likely wasn't available for this one. Cora made the right move pulling him when the Yanks tied it. Playing the percentages, that's what you're supposed to do.
  22. Suzuki is off to a great start. But we have no idea how he will hold up once pitchers have a book on him.
  23. It would have been a save. Eovaldi was pitcher of record.
