  1. Yes, at some point those terms might disappear, and it's just called a pitching staff, period.
  2. Probably because he doesn't want to allocate more money to it if it can be avoided.
  3. He had a hamstring issue in Game One, no?
  4. Crawford has a FIP of 0.11 Valdez has a FIP of -0.49 (yes, it's a minus sign)
  5. Maybe by 2023 Casas is the first baseman and Dalbec is DH/backup corner infielder.
  6. So Bello, Casas and Hamilton are all stirring some excitement.
  7. And it is difficult not to react to small samples, even when we know that's all they are.
  8. He did look very good.
  9. True, but I think what Nick is talking about is him pitching 4 innings, which was supposedly the original plan. If he pitched 4 innings against the Yankees, he likely wasn't available for this one. Cora made the right move pulling him when the Yanks tied it. Playing the percentages, that's what you're supposed to do.
  10. Suzuki is off to a great start. But we have no idea how he will hold up once pitchers have a book on him.
  11. It would have been a save. Eovaldi was pitcher of record.
  12. How could he have won vs Yankees?
  13. Deal looks even better right now.
  14. Winning rings overrides winning divisions. Yes, I agree.
  15. Small Sample Fever is running high!
  16. There really isn't that much to figure out. Since Henry bought the team the Sox have had one of the top 3 payrolls almost every year.
  17. Your supply of injury jokes is a bottomless pit.
  18. That's indisputable. But I should be allowed to make up my own criteria!
  19. It's no less of a big deal than it was before, I don't think. They bumped the thresholds is all.
  20. No, I don't think anything is less punitive.
  21. And it's now been over fifty years since the Great Expansion began.
  22. All things considered, I'll go with Pablo. On a 5 year contract for 95 million, he failed to give us even one season that wasn't below replacement level.
  23. You mean you weren't raised to believe that it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game? OK, mostly kidding with that. But I think the truth is we all have our own way of looking at things, and nobody is going to change it.
  24. Just realized the new rules have made sign-stealing much more difficult. I think we are going to see offenses in general really struggle this year.
