  1. I meant 2021, not 2022.
  2. What's the leaderboard for 2021 look like?
  3. Gaviglio - after that big innings year in 2019 he has hardly pitched since.
  4. Yarbrough wasn't a reliever. He generally came in after an "opener".
  5. And his innings and K/9 dropped precipitously the next two seasons.
  6. Stanley averaged 3.7 K's per 9 for his career LOL
  7. That's a pretty clear trend.
  8. Max innings thrown by a relief pitcher each year would say a lot.
  9. Stanley did have a rubber arm, no doubt. I don't think he threw that hard, though. Anyway, the modern trend is that guys throw a lot harder and throw less innings.
  10. Did Bob pitch 3-4 innings every third day?
  11. Yep, too hard to manage.
  12. Nope, can't be done. Arms would fall off quickly.
  13. 150 IP of relief might be asking too much. The days of rest between outings would be hard to manage.
  14. So NESN was wrong.
  15. Has anyone ever had a better doubleheader than Nate Colbert did for the Padres on August 1, 1972? Probably not. Game 1 4 for 5, 3 runs, 2 HR, 5 RBI Game 2 3 for 4 + a walk, 4 runs, 3 HR, 8 RBI Total 7 for 10 + a walk, 7 runs, 5 HR, 13 RBI
  16. With 20/20 hindsight, I love the 2013 rotation.
  17. The 2013 rotation was loaded with ifs.
  18. Sure you are LOL
  19. Wait that long to do what?
  20. We have a team ERA of 3.66. Guess what? It's our offense that's killing us.
  21. The fact is if Bloom signed Gausman we'd be liking it right now. If he signed E-Rod or Stroman the moaning and groaning would be brutal and we'd be talking about how much of our payroll was tied up in useless junk.
  22. Schilling and some other pretty good pitchers never won a Cy Young award either.
  23. He was only on 2 days rest though, they were probably hoping to use him for a save. Plus Valdez was great until yesterday.
  24. I'd say they're building toward him starting right now. Also, he's been a savior in a few games out of the pen. It's not like he's been wasted in meaningless outings. Every one of them has been important.
