  1. What are you talking about?
  2. OK, it's not a certainty, but Ort pitched well for Woo, they brought him up and he has done well in his small MLB sample. That's not usually the guy you DFA.
  3. No one is DFA'ing Ort right now, that's for sure. The others are looking very fungible indeed.
  4. But if the Dreck Man could figure out how not to walk guys he'd have done it long ago...
  5. He's the devil we know, though...
  6. You're always trying to dump our refuse on someone else LOL
  7. I think you can be both, like Dirty Harry.
  8. Winckowski is definitely a successful-sounding name.
  9. Plus he has a super-bland name LOL
  10. And playing 14 in a row against the Yanks and Rays is no vacation at the beach.
  11. No one has ever relied completely on the eye test. Even old schoolers looked at batting averages, earned run averages, fielding percentages, whatever. We just have more refined (and in some cases trickier) stats now.
  12. They're playing pretty well.
  13. I'm not sure it's really a "big need", compared to our pitching needs.
  14. I'm not sure where the good stats for relievers are, though. Shutdown/Meltdown?
  15. Schwarbs was and is a significantly better hitter at this point in their careers.
  16. I agree, ability to pay it is not the issue.
  17. Well, starting with our "Save Percentage" which shows as 50%, tied for worst in MLB with the Rays.
  18. I guess I would need to see some meaningful statistical comparisons to other bullpens to really judge. The "Team Relief Pitching" stats on B-R make our pen look terrible, but they're pretty wonky-looking stats.
  19. I'm afraid we've lost mvp to a sad little dream world where the season is 150 games and Mookie still patrols right field for us...
  20. The pen has the potential to be good by the end of the season, with additions like Schreiber and now Whitlock. At the same time, so far it has ranged between adequate and awful.
  21. And the winner is "keep the season at 162 games because the owners refuse to lose any revenue".
  22. I'm working on my own version of the serenity prayer thing. "Can't do jacksquat about it etc."
