  1. Out of those I'd say the only really major issue is Judge.
  2. So were the Yankees.
  3. The Jays are all vaccinated though. You can blame my Prime Minister for this debacle, I'm fine with that.
  4. Don't forget that whatever team acquires Soto will have to pay him 45-50 million over the next 2 seasons in arb salaries. And will have little hope of signing him to an extension. Only the deepest pockets need apply.
  5. The amount that Soto TURNED DOWN is MORE THAN TRIPLE what we signed Story for.
  6. Brasier or Diekman - pick your poison, Alex!
  7. I say leave him in Washington.
  8. The Red Sox are OVER the first tax threshold for 2022. They're at 241.8, the threshold is 230. Anyway, Fred Lynn is talking nonsense.
  9. Agreed on all counts. A great sequel is a pretty rare species.
  10. Yes, I was referring more to their next contracts.
  11. Bloom was also taking the chance that JBJ would have an offensive rebound, I think. That's what hasn't come to pass.
  12. JBJ is 2.3 wins BELOW REPLACEMENT LEVEL in 2021-2022, 213 games.
  13. FWIW modern managers don't seem to like having guys start to warm up "too early". So Cora didn't want Schreiber to be warming up through the 7th and then pitching the 8th. I'll have to take an agnostic stance on that myself.
  14. Another aging lefty reliever named Jake!
  15. Duran is in there tonight too.
  16. a) 79 million reasons. A-Gon.
  17. The one game at a time thing has not been working very well against the Rays LOL
  18. He's including Bogey in "them", I take it?
  19. Showalter's teams have never been in a World Series, not one. He does tend to get off to a roaring start though.
  20. Might as well think big, I guess.
  21. Right now the starting rotation has more question marks than a Batman episode with The Riddler.
  22. I agree with you, but I don't think the idea of selling can be dismissed as ridiculous. The Sox are stumbling and staggering through an important stretch of games and look a lot like a .500 team. The expanded wild card still gives us a "puncher's chance", and that's about all you can say.
  23. 5 straight losses to the Rays, outscored 32-13. Yikes. These last 3 games prove that there's no such thing as momentum in MLB. The Sox came into this series off two comeback wins over the Yankees. The Rays came in off getting swept by the Reds.
  24. The thing about Ort is that he's sort of a Bloom project. They've invested two years in developing him. And we got him from the Yankees!
