  1. I think most of the blame for 2022-2024 has been assigned to ownership and the front office. This year might be different. If this team keeps sinking into the depths, they're going to have to make a move. Even Francona only had an 8 year tenure, and his record was considerably better than Cora's.
  2. There's a good chance the '25 Sox are actually worse than their record right now.
  3. Giolito was such a horrible signing. Between that and trading Sale for Grissom, Breslow really did some damage.
  4. Yeah, the interesting thing about the Monster is that it does not produce a surplus of home runs, but of course it produces a hefty surplus of doubles.
  5. He also said something about the Yanks possibly finishing under .500 IIRC.
  6. That seems to be kind of a fallacy. Williams, Yaz, Boggs, Papi all lefties who flourished. But our hitting from the right side is definitely pretty weak these days.
  7. This team looks to have to a good chance to end up worse than the 2022-2024 teams, and that part is a bit of a shock.
  8. Repeating myself here, but while I agree that advanced metrics are more important, leading MLB in errors after being a close second last year does seem like an issue.
  9. I already tried this line of reasoning LOL TYPM is really locked in here. Next thing he'll be telling us Cora was lazy even as a child...
  10. Totally sidestepping the point about playing careers. Not surprising.
  11. No, it's a very big deal. You're basically running him into the ground any which way you can. And Cora was a better major league player than Francona, so your parallel makes no sense at all.
  12. Removed Raffy, Story healthy, defense still terrible. Can't find much comfort anywhere in these facts.
  13. The point is you keep making a huge deal out of Cora being a mediocre middle infielder as a player.
  14. Unlike one-time ace Terry Francona, right? Maybe you hated him too
  15. Never too early to give up, huh?
  16. The only way they can go on a run is if one or two starters besides Crochet really step up. It doesn't look good. Houck being terrible and then injured wasn't really in the plans for this year. We needed a lot to go right, and only a little has.
  17. Most of the damage came off starter Anderson, no?
  18. Right, I guess he just got the 1 blown save and the loss. He did blow 2 leads...
  19. See, that kind of save should come with a smiley face attached to it like an asterisk.
  20. I believe a fellow named Schiraldi once had 2 blown saves in the same game.
  21. Seems obvious there's something horribly wrong with the hitting approach. Have I mentioned the Dillon Lawson hiring recently?
  22. At least that one is amusing.
  23. I'm pretty sure the data shows that runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs is the only situation where a successful bunt increases the total expected runs scored. Which is a completely separate thing from the question of bunting to increase the chances of scoring one run.
