  1. On the other hand, expecting rich people to be willing to lose money to make us happy is pretty delusional too.
  2. If we assume that the Red Sox want to re-set every third year, what this really does is make the re-set years 2024 and 2027 instead of 2025 and 2028. Of course a plan to re-set every third year might be questionable in itself.
  3. And not too many guys can say they hit for the cycle in a playoff game.
  4. The Yankees played musical shortstops in the ALCS. Game 1 IKF Game 2 Peraza Game 3 Cabrera Game 4 IKF
  5. What bkz said above is what other Yankee fans complained about. He has skills, but blows a lot of simple plays.
  6. Over the last 2 seasons he has a total fWAR of 3.0 in 300 games, or 1.5 per 150 games. He is by definition a below-average player.
  7. Many Yankees fans think he was a disaster fielding-wise.
  8. If Cashman gets that new extension, it's a great time to be a Yankee hater.
  9. I think Old Red is saying it's not a safe bet the Sox don't sign a closer type like Robertson or whoever and leave Houck as one of the late inning options. It's not like Houck nailed down the closer job going forward based on 2022. Let's face it, there are many ways they could go. We are surely all hoping they acquire some relievers.
  10. Nicely put, Larry.
  11. One thing about Dave Dombrowski is that he doesn't mind making moves that are obvious. He doesn't care all that much about being creative. He goes for the prime cuts like Price, Kimbrel, Sale, JDM, Eovaldi. The one time he got a little creative was with the trades for Thornburg and Smith, which sadly didn't work out at all.
  12. The bottom line is you need a lot of freaking pitching to succeed. You need at least 3 good starters and probably 5 good relievers now.
  13. Yes, the normal in-season trade deadline is July 31.
  14. Yeah, it almost seems like the more titles you win, the higher the expectations get...
  15. I was only talking about the ones that are literally in the past.
  16. The last place finishes are all in the past. Why do you care about them? LOL
  17. If you don't care about the championships that have been won, what's the freakin' point of any of this LOL
  18. Now this was pretty funny. Yeah, that seems like something John would do.
  19. As I've said before, if you really want to blame someone, your guy is Henry. He's the one who fired DD and hired Bloom. Bloom is doing exactly what he was hired to do, just as DD did. I'm not going to go off on Henry, because he's delivered 4 rings this century. That's twice as many as the rest of the AL East combined.
  20. You have to ignore a lot of that stuff.
  21. Not exactly. $145 + $120 = $265. Mookie got $365.
  22. If the Phillies win it all, you could certainly say that DD will have stuck it to Henry a bit. As an optimist, my hope would be that it entices JH to increase the budget.
  23. Yeah, the 1% owning 99% is an understatement. Such is capitalism.
  24. No, you're just showing that you haven't been here long.
