  1. All I'm saying is that one championship and two LCS appearances in 4 years, and knocking the Yankees out of the playoffs twice, is not the kind of record that should get a manager fired.
  2. Story is one, yes. Also Kike, when it was announced we re-signed him for 2023.
  3. Nobody said he gets all the praise for that team. That's what you made up.
  4. He has failed this year, agreed. Next year is a different year.
  5. Let's talk about the "Fire Cora" thing for a moment. It's his fourth season with the team. 1 championship and 2 ALCS appearances. Once upon a time a Sox manager with that record would have been pretty highly regarded. It does lend credence to the idea that Sox fans have become spoiled by success.
  6. CONGRATULATIONS to you too.
  7. Lots of people are saying heads should roll. So basically you're just taking a shot for the millionth time at those of us who think Bloom and Cora deserve another opportunity.
  8. I'm going by career numbers. But considering that JD is $22 million, just replacing his numbers is a big gain financially.
  9. No one is saying that and you know it.
  10. They might be happier if they spend the money saved on Bogey/Devers/pitching.
  11. It'd be cool if we can cover both 1B and DH for small money.
  12. And at the end of the day, all that blaming gets us nowhere either. We can be pretty sure neither Bloom and Cora are getting fired. It's almost time to focus on 2023.
  13. Hey, I like Schwarb, and I liked having him on the team last year. He's definitely an offensive weapon. But his paycheck is pretty darn hefty too.
  14. And I have no problem with your joking. What I find amusing about the chatter about Schwarb, though, is that the old school guys are talking only about his 40 homers, and completely dismissing his .214 batting average. But then they'll turn around and slag another player for his low batting average.
  15. Based purely on their splits, a DH tandem of Hosmer and Dalbec should yield an OPS close to .800. At a very cheap rate. But tying up two spots on DH is an issue.
  16. The Yankees look dangerous again except that their bullpen has suddenly become an issue. That's baseball.
  17. Well, desperate dave beat us to the punch on Schwarb. WAR is saying Schwarb is overpaid, though. fWAR 1.6 bWAR 1.2
  18. Chapman wasn't very solid either.
  19. Schwarber is a DH making $20 mill a year. What about Abreu instead? Schwarber .214 .792 Abreu .308 .831
  20. Story got hit in the hand with a pitch, so I think calling in sick is forgivable...
  21. One more math check - Story's remaining 5 years.
  22. 2022 fWAR Schwarber 1.6 in 142 games Story 2.4 in 94 games Story is a much better all-around player.
  23. They're certainly allowed to vote with their feet.
  24. What's funny, though, is that you turn the fact you don't know the plan into thinking they don't have one.
  25. Right. The team has learned a few tricks from the scalpers.
