  1. The moneyball concept is dead.
  2. Is this year's class really weaker than other years? What did a really strong year look like?
  3. No. He is, however, another silver or bronze medal for us.
  4. Bloom says he wants One SP'er who "can bring upside, leadership and consistency to the rotation, as well as innings." Who might he be thinking of?
  5. But the Red Sox need a busier and more successful offseason than any other team in baseball, arguably. They're getting close to signing Kahnle, reportedly.
  6. I'd settle for an Eovaldi or Kluber signing at this point.
  7. Bloom is just waiting around for the bargains!
  8. The kind caused by pebbles.
  9. All of our splashy moves are imaginary at this point.
  10. Grimly amusing, I must admit.
  11. Steve Cohen might.
  12. We're not even a starter.
  13. I'm guessing the Phillies don't reset. Their owner seems like a guy who wants to go for broke.
  14. The bottom line is the Beni trade and the Renfroe trade were interesting, but at this point unrewarding, and there are only marginal hopes for the prospects we got.
  15. It's incredible how much money there is in the game now, though. We don't even bat an eyelash when a guy signs a $300 million contract now.
  16. And there are teams with surprising wads of money out there. The Rangers followed up their $500 million spree last year with signing deGrom this year. The Phillies have also shelled out hefty sums two years in a row.
  17. Bloom hasn't proved a thing yet. Comparing him with these other guys is premature at best. As we keep saying, this is a big offseason for him. So far he continues to impress with his patience!
  18. True, but a lot of Yankee fans think he should be gone because they've only made it to the Series once since 2003.
  19. More interest. Sweet!
  20. It's quite possible they already figured Bogey was gone after 2022.
  21. In 14 games before going on the IL, not really a meaningful sample...
  22. DD likes the prime cuts. Now he has an owner who feels the same way.
  23. Looks like it's $43.33, which matches Scherzer for the highest.
  24. Do you remember DD's trades for Tyler Thornberg and Carson Smith when he was with us? Nobody's perfect.
