  1. You're obviously right, and good job documenting it. But I wouldn't expect to see much change in the next WBC just because the US lost 3-2 in the deciding game. The other countries do want it a little more, there's no question. But the US did win the last one and came very close to winning this one.
  2. Did he really say that?
  3. Trending in the right direction at least.
  4. I also noticed that Law was very critical of the Yoshida signing.
  5. McGuire's 6.33 CERA with us last year freaked me out. And our pitching has been awful the last couple of weeks. And I know Wong has been out for a while. But as I said, I can get pretty superstitious and irrational about some of this stuff.
  6. Yikes. How old are you?
  7. I know ST results don't mean much, but I think I'd rather be playing well toward the end of it than the beginning.
  8. And why would that would be a good idea, Captain CERA?
  9. I'm getting a bad feeling about McGuire as a catcher, but some of that can be chalked up to my superstitious nature, I guess. Wong seems like a more hopeful candidate.
  10. 10.1 IP actually. The Nate watch will be another interesting one.
  11. Some concerning splits on Houck? Pitching to Vazquez 99 IP 1.64 ERA Pitching to Plawecki 47 IP 5.94 ERA Pitching to McGuire & others in spring games 17.1 IP 8.31 ERA
  12. The Sox have gone from 9-0 to 12-10. And our run differential got sliced to +13 tonight. The staff ERA has to be pretty poor over the last 10-12 games.
  13. We’re talking about plan C&D already because we're nuts.
  14. RBI? What about OPS+ etc.
  15. I'm gonna say that both are pretty important...
  16. But it's still too early for any crow to be served up to anyone...
  17. I guess the answer would depend on whether Duran pinch-ran for him each time? And of course maybe Benji knows LESS about Duran's defense than Alex does. All kinds of fun riddles.
  18. Yes, but now the Japanese team has won 60% of the tournaments.
  19. Yes, the comparison is silly in many ways. The Sox risked $10 million on Paxton. The Yankees risked $162 million on Rodon.
  20. Mookie chocked too.
  21. Interesting that the WBC has not really been a "crapshoot"...
  22. Japan has now won 3 of the 5 WBC's.
  23. If the US was to field their Dream Team, of course, it might take a little drama out of it.
  24. That's a bingo.
