  1. Hopefully no one ever brings up 5 year plans again while Henry owns the team.
  2. Unless the prospects were trash.
  3. Re-signing Duvall might not be super-expensive.
  4. And yesterday you said Henry wasn't paying much attention to what Bloom was doing. You have a vivid imagination.
  5. Who knows? Dombrowski stayed with Farrell for 2 years. Bloom re-hired the guy DD hired. People assume the new CBO wants his own manager, but it varies from one case to another.
  6. Bloom was building for a future that never came, not for him anyway.
  7. I'll always believe his biggest problem was his inattention to the rotation. It's stunning to think that Bloom will be leaving having never signed a single starting pitcher for more than a $10 million contract.
  8. Seems like some of both. One thing the next hire knows well in advance: "We don't want no f**king five year plan!"
  9. Whitlock seems to be coming around. Good to see.
  10. Tampa West?
  11. DD had balls, you saw where that got him.
  12. 2011 Theo gone 2015 Ben gone 2019 DD gone 2023 Chaim gone It's like clockwork!
  13. And the winner is September 14, 2023.
  14. holy s***
  15. Reffy is adequate and cheap.
  16. Right, but it's darn good evidence that you can have a highly successful season without guys playing 162, or even 152.
  17. As another poster pointed out, the 2018 Red Sox only had one player play in 150 games, and that was JDM. And that season worked out pretty well.
  18. Consider it done!
  19. 'Course not. Don't need stars at 26 spots. Just saying we don't seem to have any.
  20. I'm just jabbering as usual.
  21. The simple fact is there's no way to prove resting helps improve performance and/or prevent injuries, and no way to prove it doesn't.
  22. Some would argue the problem is we don't have a single star player. Devers has the highest fWAR at 2.8. His defense is a drag on his value. Story's offense has been a drag on his value. And so on. Maybe building for 2025-2026 really is the sensible approach.
  23. Pretty hard to judge Cora's work this year. We all agree that the rotation was ragtag and the defense was lousy. How much of that can be pinned on the manager, how much on the guy who put the roster together. Posters like iortiz say, just to be on the safe side, fire everyone.
  24. Henry might argue that $550 million on Devers, Story and Yoshida is real money spent.
  25. If one of those two pulls a hammy right before the playoffs start, the tactic will come into question, of course...
