  1. Thought I'd dredge this up again for the *sake of argument*. Just looking at Crawford's 2023 game log, and one of his relief outings was 6.1 nearly immaculate innings on April 17, which skews his starter/reliever splits a tad.
  2. They've decided to try jamming the square pegs in the round holes just one more time. Bailey will wave his wand and make it work.
  3. Holy s***, this is an incredible piece of work. A must read for Sox fans right now. She's a long one though, fellas.
  4. The Yankees have reportedly already offered Snell $150 million. That was before they signed Stroman. But I wouldn't count them out. Hal seems to have liberated the checkbook.
  5. Boras's Fearsome Foursome is most of the pricy talent that's left.
  6. No I don't. My cynicism and pessimism is off the charts too.
  7. Oh I get what you're saying. But he did backpedal immediately, too. And Werner insisted that they don't have a fixed budget number this past weekend. It's all part of the circus of confusion.
  8. The X factor is off the charts. And that includes Giolito, the man with the career ERA of 4.43 and career FIP of 4.44.
  9. It was pressing levers, man. Gotta keep Tommy's terminology straight here.
  10. It only takes one nasty one though...
  11. But they didn't actually say that. See what I mean?
  12. It's because this front office has f***ed up our heads. If they're confused as hell (they are), why shouldn't we be confused as hell?
  13. C'mon man, that was tribute.
  14. The time bomb is in his right elbow.
  15. Does that mean he'll be able to catch up to major league heaters this year?
  16. If you win 85 games and finish last you might have a case. If you win 78 games the last place arguments all become academic. As Dipre would say, you're bad and you should feel bad.
  17. Under .500 stinks no matter what division you're in.
  18. The 2023 team fell apart mainly because of the weak starting rotation and the growing taxation of bullpen arms. The offense faded hard too because of injuries and Yoshida's tailoff. That might have been addressed at the deadline a bit if the team was really trying to contend.
  19. It was a team that could have been pretty good if they had signed a good starting pitcher instead of Kluber, and then followed up with an acquisition or two at the deadline.
  20. No matter what arguments they're now putting out about playin' the kids, it's impossible for them to cover up the fact that a payroll that low is strictly in the interests of ownership.
  21. It's gonna be a stunner if they don't spend much more this year. They'll be 30 million or so below the first tax threshold. How the f*** they think fans and media won't go apeshit about that is beyond me.
  22. My problem with that is...they already have the damn payroll room if they're serious about adding a quality SP'er.
  23. I too find it a little strange how eager some folks are to trade him right now. At the deadline if we're out of it, that's a different story.
  24. Good thing Kimmi isn't here any more, I guess.
  25. Everyone should stop talking about Bauer period. It's too political.
