    I was talking about their sample sizes with the Red Sox that you're using to determine they're toast. I thought you didn't like making decisions based on small samples. You said Grissom's sample of less than 50 PA's was still small. But it's the same size as Cooper's and Smith's.

    What about the sample sizes for Cooper & Smith and their career numbers? If they should be jettisoned based on less than 50 PA's, shouldn't Grissom be right there with them?

    Casas's comments on his extension negotiations didn't bother me. He said what they offered wasn't anything "enticing". He then went on to acknowledge that he needed to become a better all-around player and so on, kind of explaining why the offer wasn't that high. He seems like a pretty open and honest type to me.

    Casas had an OPS+ of 137 in March-April/24.

    Yes, the hypocrisy about gambling is off the charts. Roger Goodell was adamantly opposed to any gambling tie-ins just a few years ago. Something changed in his thinking.

    The objective of pro sports is to soak us all for every last dollar they can. Now a lot of those dollars are coming from the ultimate source of sucker money - gambling revenue.

    I voted good for the sake of optimism, but if there was an "I have no freaking idea" option I probably would have chosen that.

    Devers actually has the highest OPS+ of his career right now. It's not like he's really struggling. He just hasn't been converting his opportunities with men on base.

    The problem is that $313.5 million is an awful lot of money for a DH or even a first baseman. And it does unfortunately further emphasize the idiocy of not paying Betts, who is literally at least twice as good as Devers.

    For some I think Devers has became less lovable because of his contract.

    There's every reason to give up on this season. I think things are only gonna get worse, frankly. This is the first time I've been a deadline sale advocate in a long time. 2020 doesn't count.

    When your team is en route to another s***** season you have to find a way to cope with it. This season has no real chance of getting better, unfortunately. The only positive may be that that there won't be any uncertainty about whether to sell at the deadline or not.

    You are OK Carter. The only impediment to the Yanks winning the AL East are the Orioles. Unfortunately I'd have to put my money on the Yanks.

    I was just talking about Sale's health status going forward being a matter of luck. He could win the CYA this year, or he could have a career-ending injury any time, and no one should be shocked by either.
