I'm not saying it's a Cora thing. It highlights a pronounced paucity of RH hitting. We have Tyler O'Neil as long as he stays healthy, and someday, God willing, we'll have Vaughn Grissom.
Don't disagree, but the O's haven't done much over the last few decades to earn a role as a model franchise.
New ownership could change all that though.
Hard to say. I like Devers and he's a productive hitter. But his defense has not come around, and that's a big problem. Looks like it's gonna be a big overpay over the life of the contract.
Losing Betts was a catastrophic error and hard to recover from.
Blowing games like last night is gonna happen. It's our post-Story starting 9 that's scary. We have no good defensive infielders, and a DH that can't hit. Stuff like that.
I borrowed that from Yogi Berra of course. It's a beauty. It struck me funny when moon said "of late" referring to pitchers who have mostly had only 2 starts.
FanGraphs has him at 4.2 RAR on defense for 2022 in 118 games. About average I would guess.
Defensive ratings are confusing as hell. They are worthy of old school guys laughing at them.
I've done a real 180 on all this recently, I must admit.
I think Cora may have a pretty positive outlook on where things are going.
The youth movement has arrived.
Breslow and Bailey seem to be doing a fine job.
There are a few signals of spending with the extension for Bello and reports of negotiations with other extension candidates.
But obviously if they want to keep Cora they're going to have to pay the man.
