  1. Sounds terrific! 2030 is gonna rock.
  2. As I said in my reply to your earlier post, I mostly agree. There are definitely some bright spots to temper the frustration. But still, I can't say I'm happy with this new Red Sox era of mediocrity and future-gazing.
  3. I think the deal now is you play the rivalry team 4 times and every other team at least 3 times.
  4. Mistakes like losing Mookie Betts tend to compound themselves. Now we're paying the same money to a vastly inferior player.
  5. You are a master at covering all the bases in one post, moon.
  6. Not well, I'm afraid. Everyone seems to agree now he's a DH. $313.5 million is a lot of dough for a DH. Should have spent it on Betts, obviously. Thanks Henry!
  7. Next up, we face a team that's right at our level of mediocrity, the 18-18 Nats.
  8. We're The Little Engine That Could (Or Not). We're Scrappy U_______s.
  9. Well, there were 4 that won 99+ last year, not far off.
  10. The Orioles, BTW, have a huge Craig Kimbrel Problem. I suspect he will be removed from the closer spot now.
  11. I don't know man, if anything the power teams seem to be separating themselves early. Dodgers/Braves/Phillies/Yankees/Orioles are all playing .650 ball.
  12. I mostly agree with all that, and yet, I still can't help thinking the Sox front office has kind of lured us into having lower expectations now.
  13. There's no need to worry about the 2024 Red Sox. Their fate is pretty much assured. When we look back the loss of Casas will likely be seen as a crusher to any chances of making the playoffs.
  14. Everybody plays everybody every year now, is what I meant.
  15. Well, we're not doormats, but we're Maestros of Mediocrity.
  16. Yes, and I know a lot of this is the bipolar syndrome that the early season can bring. On the other hand, you picked them to win 79 and I picked them to win 80, and I don't see much reason to alter those projections.
  17. And hasn't re-injured himself.
  18. And Grissom is naturally off to a crap start.
  19. Hard to believe the Red Sox have the best pitching in baseball and yet are still wallowing in mediocrity and on pace to miss the playoffs again.
  20. It's all about the future.
  21. But we're 2.5 games out of a playoff spot.
  22. Everybody plays everybody now.
  23. And of course people complain about players not hustling, not having their heads in the game, not playing when they've got some minor health issue, et cetera.
