  1. I agree. Abreu seems like a guy you could get something for, and he's not really a great long-term fit as a lefty hitting outfielder.
  2. True confessions time: I don't watch much game action any more, and when I do watch it's when the Sox are at bat, or one of our pitchers is really dealing LOL. My blood pressure is already way too high and my nerves aren't the best either. I have MLB.tv but I'm usually following on GameDay while I do other internet things. OTOH I rarely wake up in the morning without knowing the score of yesterday's Sox game.
  3. Maybe they're BLOOMING.
  4. Sounds like we're back in the business of Interest Kings!
  5. Maybe Cora likes to have one of each hand...
  6. Yes, and like those guys at the bar, they make less and less sense as the game progresses and the booze flows...
  7. Why don't you go f*** yourself, DAFFY DUCK, you brain-dead TROLL?
  8. Horn hasn't pitched since July 5, when he tossed 2.2 scoreless against the Yanks. Not sure why a Sox reporter doesn't just straight out ask Cora why the f*** Horn hasn't pitched since July 5. I think Cora would get a chuckle out of that and would give an honest answer.
  9. That was mostly what should be called "game threader" bashing LOL
  10. The outlook in 2019 didn't look that bleak to me until Henry decided to prove otherwise...
  11. His very best move does look like Andrew Bailey.
  12. Can't forget about Hendriks. How's he doing?
  13. Proven late inning relievers actually tend to be pretty costly.
  14. To be totally blunt and data-based about it, it's not for sure that this team is better than either the 2019 team or the 2021 team. It's all about how we finish.
  15. Who's not giving him a chance?
  16. It's OK, we're here to pick you up, by pointing out every mistake.
  17. The real problem is he has basically sucked in June and July after being brilliant prior to that.
  18. I'm not panicking Denny, but our bullpen suddenly looks like a major problem with no clear fixes in sight. Breslow could go bold and trade for 1 or 2 legit relievers, but that would cost some prospects, maybe some really good ones. Breslow said he's determined to pick a lane. I'm just saying we can't rule out the sell lane just yet. If he has a cold-blooded, future-oriented philosophy, selling could still be the way to go.
  19. Jansen will bounce back. The real issues are Slaten and Martin being injured, Bernardino and Weissert pitching horribly etc. Our bullpen depth is gone.
  20. Can't really fault Bloom for Giolito...did you mix him up with Yoshida?
  21. Does anybody think selling might be still on the table? A horrible thought, but I'm not sure it can be ruled out yet.
  22. Man, bullpens can really fall apart overnight. Kelly and Booser are about the only two guys you would want to see pitch tonight. Jansen-blew it last night and was shaky in his previous inning Slaten-on IL and who knows when he returns Martin-on IL and who knows when he returns Bernardino-was great up until June but has been terrible since Winckowski-OK but not confidence-inspiring Weissert-just about dead and dusted Campbell-see you in 2025 Horn-disappeared? Anderson-mopup guy
  23. Maybe we should just confine this to the question of whether one bad loss can stop a team's momentum. I say no. You obviously think it can.
  24. Well, the Yankees had one of the most crushing and embarrassing losses imaginable in their previous game, and they had a nice relaxing 6-1 win last night.
