  1. And what Cora is saying makes perfect sense to me! The platoon strategy has been around a long, long time...I don't get why anyone is questioning why Cora is so fond of it. Lowe and Yoshida were beyond brutal against lefties this year.
  2. I get these hunches and I have a good hunch about Abreu tonight. Sometimes my hunches are FOS needless to say.
  3. Not with a lefty starting for the other team. With a lefty starting Abreu, Lowe and Yoshida are The Bench.
  4. Crochet did have some durability issues prior to 2024. Chapman is definitely a freak of nature.
  5. Masa has been hitting well lately, but only against righties I believe. His numbers against lefties the last 2 seasons are abominable.
  6. That was great, but Pedro of course also had his "Yankees are my daddy" moment. All good after 2004 though!
  7. Yes I remember that.
  8. Pedro was a bit of a headhunter at times, I guess. It's nothing I would approve of. Seems like there aren't really any pitchers who are notorious for that any more.
  9. I probably won't be able to watch and will be following on Gameday. My old man nerves can't take the kind of anxiety this series should produce LOL One thing for sure, I'm going to have to make at least one change to my sig lines.
  10. I think you have to strike a balance. You have to make some effort to win the game to be fair to other teams, but you also have to look out for your own team's best interests.
  11. Sandlin ended the year pitching in relief for Woo, and struggled.
  12. I know he hasn't played in many crucial games. And I'm not knocking the guy. I said I loved him.
  13. Cora is pretty damn good IMHO.
  14. Trout has been in high leverage situations. Unfortunately (I love the guy), he has been in hardly any high leverage games. That's really what I'm getting at. But everybody has their own take on the clutch thing.
  15. The Red Sox front office lives by the code of Omerta, you know that.
  16. Disagree. Mike Trout has never had a big clutch hit-not one that anyone knows about, at least. Because he has generally been on crap teams. You can probably think of a number of other great players that have never had a big clutch hit that you know of. Obviously opportunities has a lot to do with that...
  17. I choose to think Breslow is not an idiot and realizes these things as well as we do LOL
  18. Joe Freaking Brady, how the heck are you? Glad to see you finally made it here.
  19. I think Cora is a great manager, personally, and that includes his in-game moves. Needless to say baseball managers are born to be ragged on by the armchair gang no matter what they do. Just ask Francona.
  20. I'm with MVP. Nobody wants to see inferior officiating in major league sports. As soon as people see it in action, all the other issues go out the window.
  21. I like it, personally, but mainly because it highlights how often major league pitchers can dot the lines.
