    Ever notice that baseball is the only sport where fans can, and do, interfere with the game on a regular basis? When Tom Brady throws a pass he can be assured that some drunk yahoo isn't going to get a piece of it.

    One thing that I haven't heard a lot of people mention is that Farrell decided to pitch to Longoria again in the 7th with a man on. Tazawa induced a popup. Which indicates two things: 1) Farrell has every intention of pitching to him. 2) Decisions like this are judged on results.

    Kimbrel's probably the best closer in baseball over the last few years. But the last time he pitched more than 1.1 innings was early in 2011. You'd think last night would have been the time to try to get 6 outs from him. But they didn't, and now their season's over.

    The more I read about this and think about this the more I realize - duh - that the obvious best case scenario for Sox fans is that A-Rod avoid the suspension and continue to be on the Yankees payroll and roster, a financial albatross and monstrous embarrassment to the team.
