    In terms of the total dollars, the Miley contract does not represent a very large risk for a team with this much money.

    That's understandable. But there can be risk involved in that as well. If Miley gets off to a great start the price goes up and maybe he and his agent say 'We'll talk after the season.' I don't think the Sox would have done this unless they thought it could save them a lot of money.

    The lack of defensive replacements is certainly something Farrell should have been asked about after the game. If anybody can find any comments from him about it please post them. Drives me nuts when you don't get any sort of explanation for things like this.
