I don't consider myself a doom & gloomer, but it's pretty freakin' depressing when you give up 30 runs in 4 games and 3 of those games were started by our best starters.

The game was over after the 1st inning. 4 earned runs, 7 hits and 5 walks in 5.1 IP - you can get that from a lot of stiffs. Clay is doing nothing with this final chance.
I don't think that's really the case. I think a handful of people said it was a no brainer. Which gave rise to another handful making fun of the term no brainer.
The rest are mostly fence sitters like me. I think exercising his option was a coin toss, and they guessed the wrong side.
There seems to be a psychological difference, no question. But as with most things in baseball it's not a hard and fast rule. The game before Kimbrel pitched 2 scoreless innings in a tie game.
My favorite players are still Papi and Pedey - something about loyalty to the oldtimers.
But Mookie is really something else. I remember back in 2014 when he was making his way up through the minors and we kept hearing about his amazing exploits. Now he's doing them in the big leagues.
