  1. We're in Year 1 A.D. (After David)
  2. We're T21 in runs per game.
  3. I detect a note of sarcasm.
  4. Maybe Pedroia is trying to get Farrell fired.
  5. I think when they suspend a starting pitcher now they make sure he can't start again on regular rest.
  6. You have to score runs, then you can worry about 1B.
  7. Yep. I think the only time you can do it is when he goes out to change pitchers. You really have to be ready because he hustles out there.
  8. Hanley is crazy hot and cold.
  9. Let's face it, they couldn't have f***ed this up any worse if they were trying to.
  10. Yes, those are the numbers that really show what a brutal start the offense has had.
  11. I was afraid of it.
  12. No doubts Severino is the goods. But that doesn't mean our offense doesn't have issues. 78 runs in 20 games, 3.9 a game doesn't get it.
  13. Your leadership concerns could be 100% valid. One would have hoped Pedroia would have assumed that role. Instead it looks like if he wants to lead anything, it's a mutiny...
  14. See my last post in the Barnes thread.
  15. The more I think about this, the more I think there's even more to it than we know so far. I'm thinking that there had been some discussions before this game about how to handle the reprisal, and that Pedroia had disagreed with how Farrell wanted to do it. So when Pedroia acted like he did after the pitch by Barnes it wasn't a spontaneous thing. That suggests open dissent in the clubhouse and a problem that could linger all season. Not good at all.
  16. You can't seriously believe Farrell told Barnes to throw at Machado's head.
  17. Pedroia messed up but I don't get knocking him for sitting out. He's never been known as a guy who likes to sit.
  18. Yes, f*** the f***ing f***ers.
  19. If a professional athlete gives it 100% you can't really knock them for the money they make. It's not their fault they live in a capitalist society where athletes and entertainers can get paid like this.
  20. If MLB really wanted to curtail beanball wars and brawls they could do it with punitive measures. But how far do you want to go to make it a nice, peaceful, safe little game?
  21. Oh well, expensive busts happen. Especially to filthy rich teams like ours. As someone else said, we should have learned our lesson with Crawford. But instead we wade right back in and drop $163 million on Panda and Hanley.
  22. I guess it'll rankle you more to know that we're paying $19M a year on average.
  23. An 'off field concern' indeed. You got him for nothing because other teams didn't want to touch a guy who terrorized a woman like that. Makes me sick, sorry. Oh well, you're paying him big now. Hopefully those issues don't return.
  24. Cashman has made some shrewd moves no doubt. Capitalizing on Chapman's domestic abuse did make me a little sick though.
  25. Let's trade for Knuckles Odor and be done with it.
