It was a little different situation for us last night as Houston jumped out to a big lead early. The Yankees had a lead.
You could argue either way, I guess...but I'm sure glad Girardi played it the way he did.
I don't understand why he didn't have his best relievers lined up. The 3 previous games were blowouts for the Yankees. And he could see that we were getting hammered. Strange.
I don't think anyone's upset, just arguing as usual, in this case about the contention that Marco is 'offensively about the same if not a little bit better than Pedroia going forward'.
Some Yankee fans are in a bit of an uproar over how Girardi managed last night's game. For unknown reasons he went to his B relievers in spite of having won the 3 previous games 11-3, 6-1 and 6-1.
Here's a quote from a Yankee fan in another forum:
"How is it even possible to give up 7 runs in an inning with this bullpen? Unless of course you leave your starter in too long and only use the worst options in your bullpen because you're not really trying to win the game."
I also thought it was extremely strange that Girardi didn't have all his best relievers lined up for this one after winning the 3 previous games 11-3, 6-1 and 6-1. I'm shocked about that, frankly.
