  1. Except '3 year window' doesn't automatically imply disaster at the end of the window.
  2. It exists for you, Kimmi. You're certainly entitled to think of it that way, but not everyone is required to think of it that way.
  3. Another question that arises is, what could DD have done better than he did? The move that seems to be criticized the most is the Kimbrel trade. So OK, take that one back. Would we be in fantastic shape for the future if he didn't make that move?
  4. I think the history of MLB in this millennium demonstrates that it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to have a dynasty or anything close to it. Not one team has even won back-to-back. You can do everything right and still come up short. Look at what happened with Cleveland the last 2 years. They put together great teams, they have a great manager, and guess what? Still looking for their first title since 1948.
  5. The clock is always ticking, isn't it? Cheap young talent doesn't stay that way for very long. That is, arguably, an argument for the Win Now approach.
  6. If his back fusion surgery holds up the comeback is real, I think. His swing looks great and his putting stroke looks great. His attitude also seems great. I'd like to see Tiger win another major or two. It was kind of a bummer that he got stuck on 14.
  7. Benintendi and Devers?
  8. Right, but if it's a powerful hurricane and your property is in the path of destruction, preparation consists of evacuating and coming back later to deal with the devastation. It's a metaphor that half-works...
  9. MLBTR seems to think it's between Boone and Meulens.
  10. Good word, isn't it.
  11. Who brought it up in the first place? Who has posted the most about it, by a wide margin?
  12. It'd be fine if it was a mere suggestion. It's been more like a daily hammering.
  13. And another thing - if the Red Sox Cliff does come, it ain't gonna kill anyone.
  14. No. An oncoming hurricane can be predicted with a very high degree of accuracy. You're talking about something that's going to happen in the next day or two. And nothing can be done to stop it.
  15. And Ziegler did well.
  16. It doesn't exist YET. Saying that something that might happen in the future exists is a logical fallacy. Hypothetical outcomes do not exist. THE POSSIBILITY exists. I don't think anyone is denying that.
  17. I'm a little iffy on that part, I guess, but overall it seems like a solid package of moves.
  18. Nice start for Tiger! And he is indeed hitting the ball a long way, keeping up with JT.
  19. But he also had 22 Holds. So he was 35 of 40 in Hold/Save opportunities. Do you think he's a guy who can set up but not close? Do you think some guys don't like the pressure of being the closer? Let's have some opinions, not just facts!
  20. Good, you've said all you need to say about it, then.
  21. Yes, he said the cliff is not a certainty.
  22. I think we're all capable of understanding the cliff without having it explained to us over and over. Are we supposed to be a bunch of f***ing half-wits or something?
  23. Ben Cherington is gone and he won't be back. No use pining for his return. He is the vice president of baseball operations for the Blue Jays, and I suspect he's quite happy in that type of position. Probably a lot better for the mental health. Might as well support Dombrowski in the meantime. "The above is strictly my own personal viewpoint and not intended to be a criticism of anyone else's opinion."
  24. Thanks for the updates on this, mvp.
