  1. I hate to say it but I consider you guys the favorites. I've got some voodoo dolls and pins ready for your starting pitchers, though.
  2. DFA both Sandy and Hanley, huh? Chill, man.
  3. But we've established that #3 hitter isn't that important.
  4. But who would want Hanley right now even for 'only' $11 million?
  5. As I said in the other thread, Swihart had a UZR/150 of +8.0 in LF.
  6. He had a UZR/150 of +8.0 in the OF. Not terrible at all.
  7. I understand how you feel. The roster rules can sometimes force teams to do things they don't really want to do. In some cases even do things that you might call cheating, like stashing a player who isn't really hurt on the DL. It's almost like income tax rules.
  8. We get it, moon, we really do.
  9. Doggone good, I like the sound of that.
  10. Holt was an excellent value in 2014 and 2015. Not so much since.
  11. It may work quite well at low paid Swiss Army Knife.
  12. Thank God fans don't run the team LOL
  13. He was respectable in 2016, and injured last year.
  14. Seems they're grooming him to be the Swiss Army Knife, but still see him doing some catching.
  15. This does help answer the question of why we haven't signed any dumpster dives yet.
  16. Ben was a quiet fellow. I think you'll be challenged to find very many meaty quotes from him about team-building. I think you're probably right, that he liked the long-term approach. I suspect he's more comfortable where he is now, in a more behind-the-scenes role.
  17. But he's catching in a lot of the spring training games.
  18. I don't necessarily disagree, but if we're holding Dombrowski to the same standard, he didn't do anything last year about the Pedroia insubordination either.
  19. They still have to prove it. Cessa, for one, hasn't put up good numbers at the big league level so far.
  20. Not now, obviously, considering his health status, so the question is kind of irrelevant.
  21. Yes, a range like that would suggest that when it comes to a player like Swihart, "Your guess is as good as mine".
  22. I give Ben a free pass for 2012 as well. I don't fault him that much for 2014 either. It was 2015 when I really questioned his acumen, especially with the pitching staff he rolled out there.
  23. Your offense looks sick, no question. I think our main hope for finishing ahead of you guys is that your rotation underperforms.
  24. So Ben had a different philosophy from Theo, since Theo signed Lester? Let's face it, Kimmi, we don't really know what Ben's philosophy was or is. It's all speculation.
  25. How come you're using conventional numbers instead of WAR? Seems to me you were using WAR for Porcello.
