    Dombrowski didn't just end a 5 year hiatus though, he had the dream season. 108-54 8 up on the Yankees for the division, even though the Yankees won 100 games themselves. Beat the Yankees in the playoffs. Go 11-3 in the postseason with no opponent winning more than one game (The 1998 Yankees were taken to 6 games by Cleveland in the ALCS.) That's the dream.

    I can't see any difference at all.

    Moreland did have that nasty second half fade again. But he turned out to be a nice bit player in the postseason to Pearce's lead role. A very small sample of only 19 PA's, but the line was 294/368/529 for an 898 OPS, with a very timely home run.

    So Dave doesn't even budge after the team had the dream season, and one of the greatest seasons in baseball history.

    I thought you were a big believer in pitching depth. Plus Wright's knee seems just a tad iffy.

    Still not much. But Johnson has some value as a spot starter/long reliever guy, which is something every team needs-including us.

    Ease up there Ted. Theo is an excellent GM. No need trying to trash him to make Dave look better. They can both be excellent.

    I like Kimbrel a lot. But his tenure with us was perfect. We won the ring, he was OK at best in the postseason, didn't blow any saves, but demonstrated pretty conclusively that there's no need to spend big to bring him back.

    Well, one thing is clear, we need to keep Nunez from reaching that PA bonus LOL So what about Eovaldi and the need for a RH starter. Does DD make him a serious offer? If not Eovaldi what other RH starter might he target?

    The Astros weren't that banged up. They were rolling coming into the postseason and they annihilated Cleveland.
