There's all different types of motivation. Some say the Sox used Aaron Judge blasting 'New York, New York' as extra motivation going into Yankee Stadium.

I'm starting to think I'd love to see the Yanks sign Machado or Harper. It's not hard to picture either of them imploding in NYC. We saw what happened to Stanton this year. He had an OK season, a little below expectations but not totally out of line. But by the end of the season he was being roasted by a lot of the loyal fans. The smart play for the Yanks would be to go pitching, pitching, pitching.

Just read about this in the NY Post. They said there were 2 bad slides and on the second one the umps ruled a double play. I also read that in Saturday's game Machado didn't run out a ground ball. And Joe Buck brought it to everyone's attention. Attaboy, Manny - use the playoffs to show the world who you really are.

A 5/70 extension for Gregorius seems very reasonable to say the least. I strongly suspect Bogey is not signing up for anything that low.

In Canadian tax law there's a term 'fair market value' which has almost that same definition except it adds the key word 'informed' to buyer and seller.

I don't know, we did pretty good in Yankee Stadium.

I'm not sure 'clarity' is a real thing here. The Sox and the Stros were the 2 best teams in baseball this year, but we have seen quite a bit of weird and ugly stuff so far. But that's the nature of MLB. It's not necessarily pretty and the results don't necessarily make sense. All that really matters is who gets the W and who gets the L.
