  1. Yes, it's a bit risky. But saying it 'doesn't accomplish a whole lot' might be taking it a bit far. We're talking about trying to optimize our lineup in 3 World Series games. That can be a big deal.
  2. Might as well bump this one too.
  3. I was just arguing against Jackso's statement that the Astros gave up.
  4. If Mookie plays 2B, Kinsler and Holt sit.
  5. The Red Sox were not over for 2017. That story is out of date.
  6. There was no suggestion to sit JD.
  7. I was most certainly not advocating for JDM or Mookie to sit.
  8. They didn't give up, man. Beni doesn't catch that ball it would have been a 2-2 series and we're playing in Fenway tomorrow.
  9. Should we really be sitting JBJ 3 games in a row the way he's been swinging it?
  10. And David Price did not allow any popups into the Crawford boxes.
  11. We have seen that Cora can be a creative fellow. Mookie at second is not entirely out of the question.
  12. Kimbrel had some issues, but he's not a chocker.
  13. Jackie Brasier Jr.?
  14. Not sure how the dots connect there.
  15. I don't put a lot of weight on Butterfield's reaction. If it was a player it might be different. Butterfield was a member of John Farrell's coaching staff, as he was in Toronto, and I assume they're pretty tight. When Pedroia said it's them, it's pretty obvious to me he was including Farrell. I think Farrell screwed up that whole retaliation thing. So to me it's perfectly understandable Butterfield would be uncomfortable with the situation because of his allegiance to Farrell.
  16. HAHAHAHA...well played.
  17. Price said throwing all those warmup pitches the night before actually seemed to make him feel better last night. So on top of a great game, maybe he learned something useful about his preparation.
  18. If it's the Brewers, that would be back-to-back series against teams that jumped leagues.
  19. Another one of those freaky coincidences that seem to occur so regularly in baseball - last night was the 10th anniversary of David Price's other great postseason moment, when he recorded the final 4 outs in Game 7 against the Red Sox.
  20. Steven Wright looked pretty spry in the post-game celebration. Any chance?
  21. I'm on board 100% with re-signing him. I'd love it. Whether it's a realistic possibility I have no idea.
  22. I mis-spoke there. What I should have said was 'deadline pickup of a pitcher'.
