  1. Thornburg's performances from here on are especially of interest.
  2. Dewey with the scoop!
  3. Just a whole different era. The 27 Yankees were obviously awesome, but you can't really do a proper comparison to 2019 players.
  4. Because we have the benefit of hindsight on Pablo's premature and precipitous decline.
  5. Lots of comments about his velocity here:
  6. It is a bit befuddling. For me personally it's not quite as befuddling as the 2015 'Who's the ace?' rotation. Hopefully the results are better.
  7. Fred must be having a fit.
  8. He's right, that was a troll comment. It had no other purpose.
  9. He'll lose about 15-20 plate appearances. Those will be games he's standing in the on-deck circle when we make our last out.
  10. 'Guaranteeing himself' $13 mill. That's just comical, considering what's been going the last few offseasons.
  11. Plus an .884 OPS in the postseason (51 PA's). It's all small samples at this point, obviously.
  12. Bird...hand...bush...the dirty jokes kind of write themselves.
  13. It's questionable strategy to opt out when the potential gain is that small.
  14. In Halifax Yankee gear is seen a lot. But it's easily outnumbered by Sox gear. I wouldn't be surprised if Jays gear is in third place.
  15. My guess is that Dombrowski enjoys chatting about baseball with him, and that's about it. LaRussa is technically some sort of advisor, right? It's not a bad thing having an advisor if you're under no commitment to actually utilize any information or opinion they give. Bill James too.
  16. Empty seat holograms would provide a better visual for the fans watching on TV.
  17. That's what I said the Yankees need for all those empty seats behind home plate.
  18. He might look bad in some at-bats, but his overall numbers really aren't that bad, especially when you consider his age.
  19. Wrong. Devers is going to be a great hitter.
  20. Teams like the Rays also need robot fans.
  21. Either that or a lottery.
  22. Canucks is fine. The only profiling of Canadians that bugs me a bit is the idea that we're all a bunch of pleasant little pacifists.
  23. You nailed it.
  24. Not sure what you mean.
  25. At the end of the day, it's up to Dombrowski and Cora to make the call. They know everything we know and much more.
