  1. LOL I know that play. It makes Waiting for Godot look uplifting.
  2. I know. I was somewhat lamenting passing over Cody Allen, but he's been horrible.
  3. In theory it could work. But if both catchers are really good, they'll expect to be paid like they're really good and they'll want 'starter money'. It'd be a catcher controversy waiting to happen. Good in theory, problematic in practice.
  4. He does, but he's been durable as hell up till now.
  5. But Leon was a BUC. Vaz and Swi both had futures as #1 catchers, it was thought. And you can't really have co-#1 catchers.
  6. What did people envision back when Vazquez and Swihart came up together? One of them had to go at some point, right? The best case scenario was that one of them got traded for something good.
  7. My 'claim to fame' in terms of seeing it live was seeing Yaz and Reggie Jackson homer in the same game at Fenway in 1975.
  8. Getting back on his game now, good for him and for us. I'd happily sign him to a 3 year 45 million extension or something similar. But I'm afraid there aren't enough slices left in the pie for that.
  9. Leon supporters like myself don't expect anything like that. The idea is just that the more comfortable and confident the pitcher is with the guy beyond the plate, the better their CHANCES.
  10. RIP Mr. Havlicek. He was a Boston sports legend.
  11. You're an excellent admin JBay. Thanks.
  12. You two really represent opposite ends of the spectrum LOL
  13. It's funny, when Vazquez and Swihart came up at the identical time, I wondered if it was going to result in some sort of controversy at some point.
  14. See, you could have easily stopped after the first part, but no...
  15. Fair enough. I retract Moncada.
  16. Trout is on the short list of the best players in history. His name should be left out of the discussion altogether.
  17. Sure. But as things stand, DD didn't trade away any certain blue chippers either.
  18. ? Barnes didn't give up any runs.
  19. When did I say his defense wasn't part of my argument? All I'm saying is that his offense isn't that bad. s***** is a bad word. He's slightly below average and that's it.
  20. Like I said, he always end up over .700. And last year he was excellent the whole second half of the season and the postseason.
  21. With all the bitching about JBJ, he's ended up with an OPS higher than .700 the last 4 seasons in a row. Right now the average MLB center fielder has an OPS of .687. The trade JBJ gang needs to calm the f*** down. It's gonna be OK.
  22. WAR isn't an obscure stat any more, unless you've been asleep for the last 5 years. It sure beats the crap out of 'I SAY THEY SUCKED'.
