  1. I'm not sure they even want him throwing 99 any more.
  2. He just had a stretch of 40 strikeouts without a walk.
  3. Alright, Fred. You are a modern thinker.
  4. Thunder, you're putting a target on your back, buddy.
  5. No, it's not crazy old. But the stats do start working against you.
  6. So the big league balls go farther. Wait till jung sees this.
  7. Something else I keep pointing out is that JH turns 70 this year. It's not like he has a limitless horizon before him.
  8. Yes, it would be good to maintain a healthy skepticism about Weber for a while. It was kind of fun watching him pitch, though. Only 88-89 on the fastball but a lot of movement on his pitches. With that approach you REALLY have to hit your spots.
  9. It's also possible that JD might not opt out at any point. I love him but he'll be 32 soon, some physical issues are cropping up, and the gradual decline may be what we now see.
  10. Forget the reset. Henry cares more about winning. The extensions for Sale and Bogaerts showed this. And JDM is pretty unlikely to opt out after this year.
  11. Price pitched well with Vaz in the 2018 postseason, however.
  12. It's pretty clear the catching alignment is: Leon - Sale, Porcello Vaz - Price, E-Rod and spot starters
  13. The odds certainly seem to be against it.
  14. And of course Holt has the option. Stash him while Pedey is trying to give it a go, and take it from there?
  15. I have doubts that he comes back too, but I wouldn't rule it out. This team has surprised us more than once with the lengths they're willing to go to to put a strong team on the field.
  16. And Pearce will start to hit, you can count on it. He's a good hitter.
  17. Exactly. It made perfect sense the way Cora did it. But the 3 guys who have been our best relievers each gave up a run.
  18. Remember what happened when he didn't pull Porcello after 7 against the Astros? Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
  19. Yes, a W kicks the crap out of an L every time.
  20. JBJ went oppo again last night for a HR. It was pretty well hit.
  21. Yeah, that was just a quickie poll. And probably not one of my better ideas as a forum participant LOL
  22. JBJ's bWAR was -1.4 a week or two ago. It has bottomed out and is on the upswing, I'm calling it now.
  23. This is just turning into another JBJ thread. I guess we need two of them a year now.
