  1. I don't know, but maybe we should try to keep a couple of them...
  2. Here's what Syndergaard has done over the last month: 3 starts 1 IL stint 16.2 IP .884 OPSa All 3 starts in Citi Field, one of the most pitcher-friendly parks. I know the guy has great stuff, but there are some concerning things in his numbers.
  3. A small question: if we trade Benintendi and let Betts and JBJ walk, how's our outfield looking for 2021?
  4. That could easily be the trigger of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
  5. That smells like a move that could blow up. Syndergaard has not been very good lately. He might be in the early stages of big-time decline.
  6. I'd suggest Chris Davis, but of course, it was Peter Angelos and Dan Duquette who, by signing him to that $161 million contract, were Crazy et cetera.
  7. I'll build on that. They think we're all Chris. Crazy Halfwit Retarded Idiot Simpleton (Apologies to anyone on the forum whose actual name is Chris. It's a fine name.)
  8. Wow, beautiful scheduling isn't it?
  9. It was Wayne Huizenga that ordered the 97 Marlins fire sale, dummy.
  10. Dealing JDM, Mookie, ERod goes a little beyond punting. That would be a major teardown, which is highly unlikely.
  11. https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/BOS/2019.shtml Injury report at top of page below pics of WAR leaders.
  12. That's a done deal. 3 batter minimum in effect in 2020.
  13. I think the ball will be different next year. The 'juiced ball' has become a significant and embarrassing news item for MLB. Next year we will also see the 3 batter minimum for pitchers. Don't give up hope, jung.
  14. "Umpires Who See 20-20 in 2020!"
  15. I think the top of your head is about to explode anyway, but you don't have to worry about that being the cause.
  16. There was nothing 'ill fated' about DD's trade for Price or subsequent trade of Price to the Jays.
  17. I think you mean 5 players, one of which will never play again.
  18. You're so stupid. Only the owner can dictate a '97 Marlins'.
  19. I agree with the first sentence, but I see no reason to think he's not going to come back and pitch. The recent reports are all positive. If he wasn't progressing I think we'd know it.
  20. Jeez, let's not start threads like this unless they're real.
  21. Thanks. Here's an excerpt from one of the articles you linked. Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports March 6, 2019 Red Sox starting pitchers cleared for spring debuts By Matt McCarthy, 985TheSportsHub.com Chris Sale, David Price, Nathan Eovaldi, and Rick Porcello are all set to make their spring training debuts in the coming week as the Red Sox cautiously work to get their top four starting pitchers ready for the regular season. The Red Sox have avoided using their starters in Grapefruit League action up until this point in an attempt to manage their workload. The decision came after the team used Price, Eovaldi, and Porcello heavily in both the rotation and the bullpen last October. Sale, meanwhile, is coming off a shoulder problem that limited him at the end of last season. The word 'caution' in various forms appeared in several of the articles. My main takeaway from the articles is that the team was very concerned about the impact of the postseason run and the fact that the starters also pitched those high-stress innings out of the pen. I don't see it as some brilliant new-fangled scheme to have these guys peak later in the season. I see it primarily as an attempt to preserve their health.
  22. That's nonsense, Fred. I'm as aware of Restgate as anyone here. I used the term a lot. We also used the term Leongate (thanks Slash). I'm here just about every day talking about these things. I'm not disputing the facts that the Red Sox dictated a lightened spring workload for Sale, Price, Porcello and Eovaldi. What I'm questioning is the alleged purpose of that lightened workload and the magnitude of it.
  23. Well, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. But you're a s***** reader.
  24. I'm not making up s***, I'm just asking for some actual links to quotes and stories. That's pretty standard procedure isn't it?
  25. I honestly haven't seen the quotes.
