  1. I know. There was this one crazy guy saying we should trade Mookie by the deadline. Oh wait, that was notin...
  2. At least you have some sympathy LOL
  3. 7 saves and 2 big-time blown saves. Last night he went Home Run, Walk, Home Run. Yikes.
  4. The Yankee fans on this board are relatively level-headed. But on the NYYFans forum I visit, they have been ripping Hal, Cashman, and Larry Rothschild (Pajama Larry LOL) for the state of the starting pitching.
  5. That was a nice piece of sarcasm from Denny.
  6. I think in this case it would be 'bad money after good'... And let's not write off Eovaldi just yet.
  7. I just posted this rather incredible split on the Yankees thread: Yankee staff ERA - home 3.35 Yankee staff ERA - road 5.56
  8. Last night was an epic meltdown though. He's not the same guy any more.
  9. Chavis OPS 790 Moreland OPS 852 Mitch has actually been pretty good too, when we can get him onto the field LOL
  10. I think Beni is a very good player. It's actually kind of a weird misconception that he's been having a long slump or a lousy season. OPS by month: April 754 May 792 June 827 July 826
  11. Here's a crazy split: Yankee staff ERA in home games 3.35 Yankee staff ERA in road games 5.56
  12. Disagree. He walks too many, but compensates by giving up very few hits. WHIP - 1.028 Batting line against - 109/262/160 (422 OPS)
  13. They rushed him back and he's ramping up in real games. Cora doing a good job getting him into games. Hopefully he'll get sharp and be a big help the rest of the way.
  14. 5 merit points each for you three.
  15. 5 demerit points each for you two.
  16. It's absolutely crazy how down some people have gotten on Beni this year.
  17. Looks like he is.
  18. jung, for most of the games in April and May Mookie was batting second, with X-Bo or JDM behind him, and Beni leading off. So the Beni factor is out the window anyway.
  19. You're actually making things too complicated. It's not that hard to compare offensive numbers in the Year of the Missile with numbers of other years and come up with a reasonable discounting factor, if your intent is to keep it simple.
  20. And this was actually being said in game threads. "Mookie is looking at pitches right down the middle and then swinging at crap!"
  21. Average MLB OPS is .755 this year. It was .728 last year. It's an increase of 3.7%. Very significant, but it doesn't mean everything is out the window. It was .750 in 2017, in fact.
  22. As I posted earlier, Beni had an .809 OPS in the #2 spot last year and an .809 OPS in the #2 spot this year.
  23. OPS+ does account for the rocket ship as much as it's possible, because it compares to what other players are doing that year.
  24. Huh? There are plenty of what I would call average fans here, as there were on the old BDC site and other forums. What you're saying is equivalent to saying the average person doesn't use social media.
