  1. Well, I think everyone does stupid things. It's often just a matter of luck how big a price you pay for it.
  2. It would matter to me if Rick Porcello did a Kevin Brown/Carson Smith, yes.
  3. It's questionable, but Sale, Price and Porcello keep making it look like the right thing, because with them pitching like this, we're toast.
  4. He's lucky he didn't injure himself - assuming he didn't.
  5. The sad thing is, though, that last night's submission by Porcello was more evidence that the rotation is going to sink us regardless.
  6. You're a brave man. Kudos.
  7. And OPS is the most commonly accepted stat now for overall offensive production.
  8. Yeah, but you can never have enough scapegoats.
  9. It is starting to look like a realistic possibility that they will make a change there for next year.
  10. News flash: Pillar is an even worse hitter than JBJ.
  11. There are no more miserable pricks than sports fans.
  12. Thanks for the cute trivia, harm. Pro level trolling, as Slash would say.
  13. How was it a reset? You could certainly call it a 'stand pat', but I don't think that's the same thing as a reset.
  14. Weirdest trade deadline ever, I think.
  15. Jesus, Jesus.
  16. Just STORK being STORK.
  17. Objection your honor. He did tweaks in 2016, 2017 and 2018. If he doesn't get a reliever this year it will be disappointing, though.
  18. Thanks Captain Obvious.
  19. Yeah, I get paid the same as you do for all those one-liners, Henny.
  20. Ah yes, the dreaded FIP.
  21. Well, let's see, 2 guys held out, Kimbrel and Keuchel. And Keuchel has pitched about exactly as expected.
  22. It's simple, really. Our horses, Sale, Price and Porcello, are letting us down. And the bullpen is mediocre. So it's all pitching.
  23. Pitching and pitching strategy cannot be as bad as you make it out to be, jung. Even with the Manfred Missile, major league teams are only averaging 4.5 earned runs a game. Unless you want to credit this fact to the hitters not being very good either (which I suspect is exactly what you want to do).
  24. Not seeing any moves in that direction.
