  1. Didn't we have not just a first baseman, but a platoon of Moreland and Pearce on the payroll?
  2. And DD did a brilliant job in 2018 picking up Eovaldi, Pearce and Kinsler at the deadline.
  3. But how can there can be bias collecting batting averages and ERA's? Some of this stuff is purely objective. And if it's 'cherry-picked', a reader with any baseball IQ can see that and respond accordingly.
  4. I'm getting a little lost here. BA over the last 50 games .279 ERA in last 10 starts 4.12 Are those not examples of raw data?
  5. In the 1966 World Series, Baltimore beat the Dodgers by scores of 5-2, 6-0, 1-0 and 1-0. Not only did the Dodgers never have a lead, or a tie other than 0-0, they didn't score a run in the last 33 innings.
  6. Got it. I thought you were talking about our offense.
  7. Batters walked in '19 - what does that mean?
  8. ??? Which part isn't true?
  9. In some cases eyewitness testimony is 100% accurate. As with many things there's a whole range of outcomes, right? And 700hitter is obviously right when he says that organized criminals take care to prevent it.
  10. DNA turned into an incredibly expensive, time-consuming and confusing mess in the OJ trial. Critics of the prosecution said they should have relied more on easily grasped things, like OJ's joyride in the Bronco, and less on DNA.
  11. Dominated may not have been the exactly right word. But 108 wins is a pretty high number.
  12. 7 division titles in a row is very impressive. But 4 of them came with 91 or 92 wins, so the competition wasn't the grestest.
  13. I have warm memories of 4 rings now. And DVD sets to match.
  14. If the Astros win this year, it will be 4 rings in a row for teams that dominated in the regular season.
  15. I'm with you except it's a 1 in 8 chance for the non-Wild Card teams.
  16. I wonder how recent that research is.
  17. Maybe the training and conditioning units as well. And stop acquiring so many human hulks.
  18. I used to think the playoffs are a total crapshoot but I'm not so sure now. There has to be a reason the A's, Twins and Braves have tons of playoff appearances over the last 20+ years but no rings-not even close, really. While the Red Sox have 4 rings.
  19. Yes and no, because the Nats did make a bunch of moves to try to bolster their pen. One of them, Hudson, has been outstanding.
  20. Red Sox and Yankee fans hating each others' teams is not a bad thing, as long as those emotions are confined to things like trash talk on forums like this. If you don't at least dislike the Yankees, why are you happy they lost?
  21. Plus, it remains to be seen how long the Dodgers can keep up the run they're on.
  22. Yep. It's as simple as that.
  23. Putting Wright in to run there was definitely Neuronic.
