  1. Being out of the top 10 2 years in a row definitely mattered to me.
  2. Cora must be absolutely amped. Not only did he get the player he wanted, but he's got all kinds of new complications to figure out!
  3. True, but I'm feeling pretty Polly about the playoffs this morning.
  4. It's great news for Sox fans. Kennedy's words about paying tax and chasing 90 wins have been validated.
  5. It's getting to the point only a freak of nature can have a 10 year career with no TJ.
  6. If they had any sense of humor they'd have a Gerry Cardinale bobblehead giveaway.
  7. Frankly I'm not sure what you're talking about with the 'love' thing. I don't think anyone 'loves' Bello the way you're going on about it. Who cares if Crawford was a little better last year? I'm glad we have both Bello and Crawford. They're pretty similar, both around average, both have been durable, both good to have.
  8. They're cheapskates every which way, aren't they?
  9. He's projected to be just about average in 2025 - 2 to 2.5 WAR. An average starter who takes the ball every 5 days is a definite asset.
  10. Well, it's round-ish.
  11. But what would we talk about when the window closes?
  12. That added muscle worked out just great for Benintendi. 😛
  13. They are, but the starting lines are generally an accurate reflection of reality. The point spreads in football are designed to make it a coin toss, so you get equal betting on both sides. If there's inordinate betting on one side they move it. Buffalo Bills fans are known to bet on their team a little irrationally so the spread will reflect that.
  14. And I'm going to try to put a pause on my front office beeching until there's a resolution on Arenado and Bregman. 😉
  15. Bregman has some serious reverse splits the last few years. The Red Sox biggest problem last year was actually that our righties couldn't hit righties and our lefties couldn't hit lefties. So he would be a boost in that regard. This "balancing" thing seems to have become yet another rabbit hole LOL
  16. Once again highlighting that our offense could really use another bat.
  17. Patrick was running for his life. We're used to seeing some of that, but not on every play! And imagine being a 22 year old kid and pick-sixing Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
  18. As far as how Henry feels about the fans, I think he expressed that pretty clearly in his interview in which he talked about fans having unrealistic expectations, thinking their team should win the trophy every year when the odds are really 1 in 30. He doesn't have a lot of regard for our intelligence.
  19. I think it's a combination of a) trying to be smart running the team and b) trying to maximize return on investment for FSG shareholders. Some would argue that there's nothing smarter than maximizing return.
  20. Close enough. My recollection from what Kimmi said is: Best overall hitter 2nd Best or next best OBP 1st Best or next best power hitter 4th Next best power hitter 5th Next best overall hitter 3rd Then of course you have to factor in the L/R stuff.
  21. We're in a position of trying to reconcile the facts that: a) They are the #3 team in franchise market value and annual gross revenue, according to Forbes 2024 annual Business of Baseball report (and those rankings have been steady for years), and b) As of now they are out of the top ten in team payroll for the third year in a row.
