  1. First off, i would like to disclaim that i am obviously not as knowledgeable as Sickels and that the changes are purely from my own research and what limited exposure i have of this kids: Cecchini over Jacobs is a travesty. If the rankings are based on upside, well Jacobs may have the most upside of any kid not named Bogaerts in the system. I would rate Coyle a solid B, pending improvements on D for a B+. I would rate Iglesias a C+. The glove is nice, but the bat gets you to the Majors. Ranaudo should be a B at the least, even with his struggles, the stuff and poise are undeniable. I would put Workman ahead of Wilson, because not only is he younger, but he projects as a starter, while Wilson projects as a reliever. Bradley should not be top 15. Brentz should not be over Ranaudo. Those are my notables.
  2. So? What matters is what he's doing now. He's been stopped by the Yankees from throwing in the DWL, but his last five starts there were mired by control issues regarding his breaking ball. Does Baseball America cover the Winter Leagues? It may be an issue of him struggling after increasing his velocity. You can do your own research instead of relying on old BB links.
  3. Hey, don't let me get under your hair here. Notice how i said all of those are possibilities. I didn't say they would happen, but rather that they could happen. I don't know a lot about Warren but i'm actually fairly informed on Phelps and Noesi (who i'm ashamed to admit i'm a fan of) and i was encouraged by his increase in velocity in the DWL until the control problems started. He cannot locate his breaking ball. On the rest of the butthurt areas of your post, i'm simply putting forth all of the possibilities that you handily forgot to mention in your initial analysis but that you were sure to have posted had it been about the Sox. By the way, not everyone who disagrees with you is Dutchy. As per some members from TalkPats, that's your binky whenever someone new does disagree with you. Drop it, i'm not Dutchy. If you don't believe me, check my User at TalkPats, where i'd been posting for months before coming here. @ Jacko
  4. ^That was posted before in the Off-season thread, but here is where it belongs. On that note, i disagree with a lot of the placements and grades on this list.
  5. Tony Mazz stops writing about baseball to pursue his passion as a transvestite go-go dancer.
  6. No need for you and Meh (who's extremely unrealistic in almost everything, thinks Kojji Uehara is a lefty, and thinks real life trades are like fantasy baseball trades, but i digress) to get your maxy pads all wet. Bad things that could happen: 1) Nova could get figured out by the league, like a lot of other pitchers. 2) AJ could be bad AJ all year long and be so innefective and be unable to even provide valuable innings. 3) Garcia's stuff could regress further and get hammered. 4) Noesi, who's Winter League stats and scouting you seem to have not read, could continue his control problems. 5) Warren, Phelps and Noesi (mentioned above) are not ready, and an injury to either Nova or CC leaves the Yankees scrambling. None or all of this could happen, but just as you're a "realist" with your Sox analysis, be a "realist" with your Yankee analysis. That being said, the Yankees are certainly in a better position than the Sox in regards to their pitching at the moment.
  7. Parra is a lefty that can't hit lefties. .665 career OPS against them. Not a fit.
  8. Chris Young plays CF, the guy this signing would make available is Gerardo Parra.
  9. Murphy's Law apparently doesn't apply to the Yankees. It's all sunshine and unicorns and rainbows.
  10. Ellsbury's agent is Scott Boras Fred. If you want them to stop dealing with Boras, you can kiss Ellsbury goodbye, is what MVP is trying to say here.
  11. Thank God. No to Gio please.
  12. Matsuzaka says hi.
  13. You've mastered the non-sequitur. Train another type of logical fallacy now.
  14. Tomase himself says in the article that most players (logically) do better on team wins than losses, and that Salty's year was simply a statistical curiosity. Since he had an agenda, he didn't bother reading to that point. What a joke.
  15. ^THIS. THANK YOU.
  16. Lol @ this post. Sense of entitlement.
  17. I want Santa to sprinkle his magic powder and end all Red Sox fans' sense of entitlement for christmas. Oh, and i want them to sign Madson and Oswalt and have Youk enjoy a fully healthy season.
  18. What you saw over 8 or 9 games is not better than what a full year of scouting and statistics told the Red Sox about the guy. He's an above average SS, and excellent at 2B/3B.
  19. But it doesn't matter if you're a fan!!111!!! You can't see things with logic!!!11!!11!1
