  1. f*** Humber.....gimme the Red Sox!
  2. What i don't understand is "as good a job as can be expected". That adds some bias to the poll, by creating a built-in excuse to choose option A. He's either done a good job, can't be assessed yet, or hasn't. No need to create any excuses for him.
  3. Keep Byrd around and DFA D-Mac, who is bringing nothing at the plate? No tinfoil hat needed.
  4. If the White Sox were to bite on Youkilis for Floyd, i'd do that, and bring WMB up full time.
  5. B trending towards C. I expected him to be an off-the-field nightmare, as did almost everyone here. His in-game managing leaves something to be desired as well, though, but he could improve.
  6. I never said Floyd for WMB, i said Floyd for Youkilis, then promote WMB.
  7. Gavin Floyd from the White Sox, who have a mess at 3B, and may think they have a prayer of competing. Ervin Santana from the Angels also makes sense, because Mark Trumbo is not a 3B, and they honestly don't have one. If (when) Chipper goes down for the Braves, they may look to deal from their SP depth after Vizcaino and Hudson come back (No Jurjjens plz though).
  8. If they're going to trade Youkilis, they need to trade him for pitching. With Kalish, Crawford and Ellsbury coming back later this year, it doesn't make much sense to trade Youk + for an OF with platoon problems who can't play D.
  9. I'd trade Youk because WMB is knocking on the door, but trading Beckett makes no sense for a team lacking pitching. You don't like him, we get it, but it makes no sense.
  10. How are they rebuilding? By all accounts, they're looking to add players, not trade them away. Also, it's April 20th.
  11. Wait, what? Wouldn't it be worse if they were losing against scrubs?
  12. Unless you walked a far way to the game, you didn't take the Red Line. Take Red Line to Park St and then Green to either Kenmore or Fenway, if any potential visitors are curious. Most people will agree Kenmore is the best stop to get off for Fenway. I guess pretty strange that it isn't, say, the Fenway stop that is best.
  13. This team is in trouble. When they hit, they don't pitch. When they pitch, they don't hit.
  14. Not even at all considering he pitched most of the season in the AL West, and the Boston pitchers do have to play the Yankees. And this is dishonest because you are not counting the fact that he does not pitch most of his games against Kansas and Texas, but rather Oakland, Anaheim Cleveland, the White Sox and Minny, in Safeco. Also, the ballparks. Safeco is an undisputable advantage.
  15. I am in the other room because I can't watch anymore....but I can still hear it...Who the hell is the guest in the booth right now and why the hell are they talking about this haha
  16. Every team in the AL East was in the upper half of offensive teams in the Majors last year. Fenway was the third best stadium for hitting. Oakland, Cleveland, Anaheim, Chicago, Minnesota were all in the lower half of team hitting. Safeco is a pure pitcher's park, Detroit is neutral with a slight tendency towards suppressing runs. You can try minimizing the difference 'till you're blue in the face, but it's there.
  17. Anaheim's lineup has been a joke the past few years. Texas, i'll give you. And the "Titan" that is Baltimore was 14th in hitting last year in the Majors. The worst lineups in the AL East are league average. The worst in the AL Central and West are among the worst in MLB.
  18. Larry Lucchino has stated several times that the team's goal is to stay close under the lux tax, and that the team would keep signing the players it targets regularly, so long as they can remain under the tax. The "JH doesn't want to spend" theory is bogus. You can find reports of the Red Sox scouting Cole Hamels floating around the internet right now.
  19. That's hindsight. And you don't quite know if he would or wouldn't have been good in Boston. The truth is he would have been better than Bedard, which would have propelled us into the playoffs, that much is true. The point is, that saying that Fister is a better pitcher than Josh Beckett or Jon Lester is ridiculous.
  20. You're basically by 2011, because it accounts by 60% of his sample. See the problem with the small sample, oh genius of stats? Beckett pitches in the AL East, Fister pitched in the AL West and AL Central. Big difference whether you want to admit it or not. Titans such as Oakland, Minny and Chicago sure make that ERA explode huh?
  21. ....or he could've gotten hammered given his away stats and the collapse still happens. Or worse, maybe he joins the chicken and beer club and needs TJS after straining his UCL during a beer bash with Lackey. Also, stop trolling. BTW, ERA+ accounts for stadium production, but not for fluke seasons. If you're expecting 2011 to be a benchmark for Fister's production going forward, prepare to be sorely disappointed.
  22. This makes no sense. The payroll's at the highest its ever been, and last year, after buying Liverpool, they spent a s*** ton of money. They're also not the only team scrambling to get under the lux tax. So that conspiracy theory holds no water.
